I'm now officially a multi-shipper.

Fandom: CSI, Original Gangsta Version. Pairings SO FAR -- keep in mind I've only seen half of seasons 1 and 2 to date:

1) Catherine/Grissom. It is like Crusher/Picard, but with more pole-dancing! (He's a socially awkward academic who knows everything about everything, she's a single mom with more than a little snark in her, and they've got a possibly-angsty as-yet-undetermined past...)

2) Sara/Grissom. Geek mating rituals, omg!

3) Sara/Nicky. The cuteness kills me dead in totally unexplained ways!

Ritual stoning may now commence.

but that scene I *ADORE* because she totally slips right past his defenses and *NAILS* him. Gil gets a complete suckerpunch and I love that moment.

Yeah. There's something beautifully cruel about that moment. It reminds me of being a little kid and just saying the ONE thing that you've known all along but haven't said because it's totally not nice. *evils* I love how they both react, though. So perfectly telling about their characters, that she gets defensive and screams and lashes back and he... doesn't. I like that she's a little bit cruel, too, and it's awesome that he just lets it go and asks for a truce (love it!) and isn't wary of her because of it.

Kid!Fic is fun. Especially in a fandom like this, it becomes an escape and we needs our escapes we does. But with this? They're all so cute about her that it's just...it's like chocolate *G* fic chocolate *G*

Yes!! Totally! Chocolate is awesome. Man cannot live on angst!fic alone! Mmmm. And they really are freaking adorable about her, and I'm sure she doesn't mind at all at that young an age having adoring pseudo-relatives running around everywhere, even if they do all fight over who gets to help her with her science fair projects. And Catherine's all "This is for second-graders, guys. Guys?" And then Greg shows her how to make plasma in a microwave by sticking a toothpick in a piece of bread, and everyone else is still arguing while she draws her report.

I'd say pretty easily they all have!!!!! Definitely all have and we need to see some of it because *EEEEEE*!!!!

Eee! Yes!! I have a hard time imagining Sara actually *playing* with her. I think she'd be a little wary of children, since they respond to commands less well than, say, dogs, and are unlikely to stay in one place. At least, not until she gets to know her. Then she might mellow out a bit. ;)

OMG CHILD CUTENESS!! Thank you, CSI, for giving us something other than pain and death.

I mean, *GAH* if you're writing a fic for a certain pairing then you control the outcome anyway

EXACTLY!!! I mean, you might have to come up with some kind of a reason why so-and-so left character A for character B, or chose one over the other, but you don't have to completely assasinate anybody's character in doing that!! ARGH. I just want to scream every time grown women run away and start sobbing in jealous rage whenever ONE COWORKER SPEAKS TO ANOTHER, because... omg! These people are not 12! They're really not! Not that I keep stumbling across those fics or anything, noooo.... (I hate the wolf-in-sheep's-clothing effect with fics. Like, when a writer is actually a decent writer and spells well, and then does something like THAT!)

He's just like "Whoop, Mount St. Catherine blowing again, wow, isn't that lava pattern fascinating? Best move out of the way and stare while I wait for the reaction to settle...ooh lookit, bees!"

Bwah! Exactly. And it's nice because he's got that it's just part of her, so he doesn't fret about having to rise to the challenge and figure out how to talk her down or anything.

They're looking at a brutalized body or something and he's just examining a scraping on a thigh and Catherine's already well into FURIOUS!Cath mode and he's all "buh? does not compute."

Fortunately, he's good at tuning people out. :)
