Have I mentioned that while doing this Tok'ra'thon I'm also assembling a Star Trek: TNG jigsaw puzzle? The Enterprise is finished except for one section of the forward hull that's lacking some structural integrity (let's say it's the section the Borg carved out that one time!) and now I'm having trouble finding the rest of Guinan's hat.

Meanwhile, on SG-1... )

I don't know about you guys, but whenever anyone says "boned" I think of "Futurama," to the extent that I kind of forget it's a saying that people ever used before the year 3000. Though we can probably all agree that "Futurama" is one of Jack's favorite shows, right? He's totally Fry in the giant brain episodes and the Asgard are the Nibblonians.

Tok'ra'thon 2012 is continuing apace:

Today, on The X-Files... )

So I've spent my evenings this week editing fanfic and putting together a Star Trek: TNG jigsaw puzzle while watching Tok'ra episodes of SG-1, and really, I think that scene just needs a little more nerd in it, don't you?

Well, until I figure out a way to do that, let me SHARE MY TOK'RA FEELINGS with you!

TOK'RA FEELINGS! )

I've fallen back in love with SG-1 hard. I watched "Window of Opportunity" with [livejournal.com profile] anr when she was here and that was the beginning of the end.

Believe it or not, I usually try to make my fandomflail posts have a coherent point (hey, I said try), but indulge me: I'm gonna spaz out about SG-1 in a long-winded bullet-point format here.

Right here. )

Aaaaand... Tok'ra. )

Title: "Uncomplicated"
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Jack O'Neill/Elizabeth Weir, Sam/Jack UST
Episode related: "New Order" & "Rising"
Summary: Maybe, with her, it really is as simple it seems.
Author's Note: It was 2004, between "New Order" and "Rising." In those days, we were all making "Pete must die!" t-shirts, trying to remember all the new characters' names, and plotting Elizabeth's list of future conquests. "New Order" inspired me to write porn for the very first time, and 6 years later, I'm finally posting it! Step into the wayback machine and enjoy.

Oh my god. Stupid cute OTP. If there's better UST out there than Stargate Season 4, I'm pretty sure it would be hazardous to my health to know about it.

I want to ask for ficlet prompts, but I think I'm in that sort of brain-fried-on-season-4 state where it would come out like OOC pining-then-declarations-of-love crack because they do that to you. (I think I have about 300K words of shame fic on my hard drive from the first time I watched season 4. Sheppard and Weir never did that to me - everything I started writing for them I intended to be post-able, and I never felt the need to find more and more outlandish ways of breaking them to get them together. Sam and Jack make me dumb.)

Um. But if you want to prompt me, even after that, you can. ;)

Rating: R, but in a tame way
Category: mini!OTP. General season 8 spoilers.

I might be totally obsessed with Stargate and Sam/Jack again. I'm making myself go to bed without watching the whole rest of the series, but while NBC was showing things other than the Olympics today I watched some Season 6, because love, and then I watched the disk with "Paradise Lost" on it, and then read everything from [livejournal.com profile] shipwithpants, and then had to watch "One Hundred Days" (omg, no haters, I <3 Laira and that is one of my favorite episodes and BABY SAM ANGST), and then after that you kind of have to start watching season 4 with "Small Victories" and...

Okay, am I the only one who really wants to write terrible cliched fic where the Asgard's "sanctioned" experiments on humans include breeding a passel of Sam/Jack babies from cells they stole, because they WOULD DO THAT (he's ADVANCED and she's the least dumb human we have!). I mean, this is a terrible fanfic cliche (zomg we somehow encounter children that are actually ours even though we have never done sex!?), but it was also a decent episode of The X-Files (oh what, this random adorable child who's just been orphaned is actually my secret alien government conspiracy baby and Mulder has been keeping my ovaries in his freezer?).

We should have a fanfic cliche challenge. The internet messaged me to inform me that apparently EVERYONE ELSE JUST DID THAT with [livejournal.com profile] dayofindulgence. So how about a things that were somehow canon on the X-Files challenge?

This post is rambling and makes no sense, but please spaz out in the comments about your FAVORITE SG-1 moment/episode/fanfic cliche and why Sam/Jack was SO AMAZING when it was good or if it is STILL GOOD and what season had the best Sam hair and SO FORTH!

Happy Daniel/Janet Day!! (Day/Week/Month/YEAR, depending on how enthusiastic we're all feeling.) Anyway, in honor of this momentous anniversary (anniversary of the first airing of "2010" commemorated in the year 2010), festivities were declared, and Fic Amnesty was established.

This is an UNFINISHED humor fic from 2004, when I was new to fandom in general and bought into the fanon notion that the SGC was kind of like high school, except with more guns and aliens. Icon is also from 2004, although there's no drunken sex in this fic. And so, for the gals in Gateview (headers are also from 2004, because apparently I liked to write those first):

Something to Talk About )

Rest is here!

I just can't quit you.

First, to reward myself for finally going through the stacks of old paperwork cluttering up my craft area, I put on my all-time favorite Stargate SG-1 episode: "Redemption." (There's humor! Action! Pathos! Ry'ac! More humor!)

Then, because it got linked off something someone shared on my Google reader, I read all the Stargate articles at "The Hathor Legacy," which discuss in detail how Sam Carter is either the best or worst thing to happen to women on television, and also, how Janet Fraiser was always really cool.

Then I started rereading old unfinished fic, and now I want to finish "Second Chances," the post-Heroes-meets-parallel-universe-technobabble-angstfest thing I started writing back in 2004. It got derailed by some combination of going on psychiatric medication and realizing that I'd written the first 30,000 words or so entirely from Daniel's point of view, and in order to continue the story I needed to be able to follow everybody else around, too. So, probably rewriting is needed. Also -- my angst was a lot wordier back then, and much more dramatic. People had a lot of anguish clawing their hearts. (Not to mention the technobabble craze I seemed to be on -- I wrote pages about the detailed workings of a differential quantum resonance frequency compensator, and I'm pretty sure we can call that a symptom of mania.)

So. Yikes. I don't take on big creative projects anymore, really, and I'm not sure how to attack it, aside from setting aside time and trying to remember all the plot points. Do I rewrite first? Plow forward with the POV madness as it is and call it a draft? Actually write an outline? Can I just forget about writing it, watch "Rite of Passage" a few times, and move on?

Oh, STARGATE.

I requested from [livejournal.com profile] leyenn and [livejournal.com profile] medie, so here goes! :)

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead. You know, if you want to. :)

Suggest away! (If you suggest a show or character I don't know, I'll let you know and you can suggest again.) If you want to throw in a random word to aid in muse navigation, but the internets can always provide me with random words if necessary.

Title: "Holiday Wrapping"

Summary: What do you get for an alien teenager who has everything?
Challenge: from [livejournal.com profile] besyd: Daniel/Janet and a big red bow.

[livejournal.com profile] besyd, to whom I owe many things, including but not limited to:

Extensive knowledge of commas and how to occasionally use them properly (with supervision),
Continued sanity during a period of ridiculous insomnia (it helps that she was working the night shift, but I pretend she would have stayed up feeding me squeee on the internet anyway),
Pretty much all my Sam/Jack fic (I think I only wrote Daniel/Janet until I met her),
Pretty much all... well, most of my other fic (she can't be blamed for some things, since she only politely tolerated my omgwtflaaaaaantis!!1! and my need to write fanfic where everyone gets drunk and cuts each other's hair),

and finally:

My real, true appreciation of gun porn.

This fanfic doesn't have anything to do with the above and no doubt has unsupervised commas everywhere, but it is Sam/Jack, and it has Jacob, and it is all for you. :)

Also? I have this weird recollection that once upon a time you asked me to knit you gloves, and I said yes, and... did I make this up? Was that five years ago? Please tell me, because I will gladly knit you things (if you will gladly send me reminders so I don't forget for six months).

Title: "Something Old"
Author: Little Red
Rating: G
Spoilers: Jacob & Selmak general stuff.
Pairing: Sam/Jack. It's sort of a Jacob story in my head, though.
Summary: Sam moves a lot, but some things stay the same.
