[livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon peeps, general enablers, sanity-savers: I need advice.

I started writing a I'm dropping out of [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon because it took me sixteen years to finish the other fics I owed and I've completely missed the boat and DAMMIT IT LOOKED LIKE THE FUNNEST THING EVER post. Then I noticed that they're kind of doing extensions over there, so maybe I haven't totally missed the boat, but all the late dates are taken, so I still sort of have? But the mods all like me?

I finished my [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti fics yesterday, so I haven't touched my Chaosfic. I still completely adore my show and characters, but my plot is missing... um, most of itself (ugh, who would have thought spy fics needed COHERENT PLOT), so I'm kind of at square two, if not square one. I can't even figure out what city to base my company headquarters in! I might have to invent one! And if/when I write it, I'd kind of like to write it well.

My RISK bible is up at [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon.

ZOMG, it's kind of like a real show! Also, a little digging on google images, and Percy Daggs grew up hot, y'all, and possibly not nerdy enough for the role we cast him in, but I did mention hot, so, OK? OK.

Also, in totally non-official news, I totally may have written fic. For my show. As I was explaining to Lyssie, not fic of my show, but, like, non-canon future speculative fic that I would totally write if the show were on the air. Actually, I might have written it before the character bible. And it's possible that it has headers, with things like Episode Spoilers and "AU!fic." What the heck kind of brain do I live in where this is acceptable procrastination behavior?

OH FINE. SHAME IS OVERRATED. I'm even leaving the spoiler warning in there, for the true effect of "... wtf, Little Red?" CONSIDER YOURSELVES SPOILED FOR AU IMAGINARY THINGS ONLY IN MY HEAD.

With Me Sweet )

Yes, unfriending is an acceptable response. *headdesk*

ETA: Should you take this to mean that I've casually charted out about 3 seasons of the show in my head? Um, yes. Look, it was a long drive to Seattle and back.

Dear suits at network, please weigh in on the following lingering things about my show-by-collective-hive-mind, RISK.

The results of our screen test poll and associated *gasp* racially-charged questions! )

Congratulations! You have been drafted to use your poll-ticky skills in the final round of casting for my [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon show, RISK. If you have thought of someone else in the meantime, suggest away!

The poll is below the cut (IMAGE-HEAVY), and below that are the character bios again for reference purposes. As a general rule, you should be able to imagine these characters sleeping together. Because they, you know, probably will.

[Poll #1517536]

And bios!

Dylan Hart: Dylan is the leader of the team in the field, and his expertise is tactics. He studies, he researches, and he believes deeply in what they're doing, and the company they're doing it for. He probably considers the moral ramifications of their actions more deeply than anyone else on the team. He tends to form close relationships with people. He's known Camilla, now his primary confidante, for years. Dylan and Tabitha have a long-smoldering attraction, possibly occasionally consummated, but he doesn't mind making himself available to other women, and he will have at least one serious relationship with a civilian (Sara Howell, below).

Camilla Fairchild: Camilla, the team's combat and ordnance specialist, enlisted in the Marines out of high school to spite her wealthy, estranged father. She was quickly recruited by Libertech for the corporate intelligence division, and has had several years of experience individually in the field. Camilla fights hard and plays hard, calling herself "sexually opportunistic," and will always find a good time. She has a bit of a devil-may-care attitude and is used to striking out on her own, though she likes her team and learns to be part of the group.

Tabitha Brewer: Tabitha is the team's "honey trap," an infiltration expert who uses seduction as one of the weapons in her arsenal. She's home-grown within the company, hired at 18 for the corporate mailroom, but was quickly singled out and trained for covert intel. She has spent time undercover, and the company put her through two years of college, where she met Shea. A natural caretaker, she looks out for those in her division, and is sometimes haunted by memories of a past mission gone bad where she killed an exposed enemy operative. Because she helped bring Shea into the company, she considers her to be her personal responsibility.

Michael: Michael is the team tech, calibrating radios, upgrading their recon technologies, hacking into computer data, and providing remote assistance. He spends most of the time at the "house" or in the car during missions, and is is rarely on the front lines. He's also the main communications link between their team and the rest of the Libertech intelligence division; while Dylan is the one to get their assignments directly, Michael is in constant contact with the other intelligence arms and often knows first what's going on. He's new to any kind of on-site work and is more comfortable far away from danger, but his desire to solve every puzzle means he can't turn down this opportunity. He carries a brightly-burning torch for Camilla, and believes one day he'll win her over.

Catherine Shea: Shea is contracted to work with the team on individual missions, but isn't fully committed to the project or totally "in the fold." She's a doctoral candidate in psycholinguistics with an innate genius for cryptography. She has known Tabitha since Tabitha took one of her classes, and would not have taken Libertech's offer without her involvement. At first, she is kept in the dark about most of the team's activities and objectives. She goes by Shea, though Tabitha will call her by her first name in a crisis.

Alexander: Alexander and James are a separate, two-man team who fall under the same "risk unit" umbrella. They spend less time undercover and more time traveling for the company on "business purposes," meeting with corporate allies and gathering information. Alexander is serious and professional and believes in running missions "by the book." He is intently concerned about information leakage, and will keep information confidential until he has permission to divulge it, even to the others in the department. He knows a lot about the long-term corporation plans, understands economics and politics, and toes the party line. He and Tabitha will have a relationship.

James: James is Jim Kirk and James Bond – the lady-killing, action-loving hotshot whose first duty is always the mission. He and Camilla will have lots of meaningless sex. James and Alexander spend all their time together on missions, and they irritate the hell out of each other, possibly in a slashy way.

Marshall: Marshall's a director in the corporate intelligence division, and the risk units were his idea. He handpicked the team and gives them their assignments. He used to be a ground operative for the NSA, and sees himself as a mentor to the group of young agents, especially to Dylan.

Sara: Sara is Dylan's civilian girlfriend in the first season. She works for another major corporation, but in a purely corporate role - nothing to do with intelligence. Dylan initially sought her out as part of a mission, but when the mission dead-ended, they started seeing each other romantically. She wants a serious relationship, and is consistently frustrated by Dylan's job and feels she plays second-fiddle to his colleagues.

Plz help!

Just spent a fabulous weekend in Seattle for my sister's birthday (hooray!) that was totally fabulous due to sister + birthday + friends and not at all dampened by ridiculously crappy restaurant service and overcharging (TWICE) and driving back for 5 hours in the omgrain. It was THAT FABULOUS!!! :)

But now, I get to start on my Fiscal Quarter of Awesome Write-i-tude!! :) It will look like this so you can hold me to it/publically shame me when I do not do it:

Tomorrow: I will post a poll with pikshurs for SCREEN TESTING for my Chaos show! (America Ferrera as a badass ex-marine party girl? y/n?) Then of course update final bible and post to [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon.

This week/weekend (last week o' January): [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti fic for [livejournal.com profile] miera_c! There will be SPARKY. That's all I'll say. (I'm sure you are all just shocked at this development.)

Next week/weekend (first week o' February): [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti fic for [livejournal.com profile] indiefic! I don't even know what it will be yet, so I can't even pretend to lord that over you.

2nd week o' February: plot outline for [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon fic! I'm turning over a new leaf of outlining, and a tangential new leaf of not turning things in late.

February/March: [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon fic, with all my ten-people-requesting-drabbles meme drabbles.

ETA: Non-writing things-I-will-do, v. exciting for me, less exciting for the livejournal community at large:

Tomorrow: Format my newwww 1T external hard drive, transfer over a bunch of media stuff, partition laptop, install Windows, download STO for mad system testing capabilities!

Wednesday: If all goes well with the testing, pre-order STO for all the bonuses that will enable me to play a joined Trill in a miniskirt, dammit! Though, obviously, my play-time will be limited by the Fiscal Quarter of Awesome Write-i-tude.

All other times: Knit tiny things for friends' incoming babies. Babieeeees!

You promised (well, [livejournal.com profile] irony_rocks volunteered you) to help me find actors, because I am awful at it!! My character bible is below, with casting notes on each character that I am sending to you, my casting agency. :) You can suggest actors that have nothing to do with what I've described and last names can be changed depending on race. Please help meeee so I can do [livejournal.com profile] chaos_thon! Thank you!

ETA: I'm adding in the current front-runners for each character, so things don't get lost! THANK YOU!!!

I've totally signed up to write a bunch of stuff. EEP!

I am totally overwhelmed by [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti! It is hard to find people in the gazillion comments. I'll comb through it more carefully closer to the final auction and see what I can still afford! :-D

My offer post is here, and the details are:

I am offering: 1000+ word fic to top bidder, a 500+ word fic each to the 2nd and 3rd place bidders, if any.

Fandoms (if appropriate): Atlantis (Sheppard/Weir), SG-1 (Sam/Jack, Daniel/Janet), Star Trek (any show, most het pairings), X-Files (Doggett/Reyes), Babylon 5, Jake 2.0, sgarpf (Torri/Joe).

Additional Info (optional): I'm not very familiar with the last two seasons of either Atlantis or SG-1. I'll write other fandoms and pairings if I know them, email/comment on my journal to ask! Note: the "2nd/3rd place bidders" clause means that you can bid less than the top bid.

Starting Bid: $5

I also signed up for:

Chaos

I only did this because [livejournal.com profile] irony_rocks promised that my flist would help me find actor pikshurz for my show, hehehe. See how she volunteered you like that? I'll post my casting call soon. :)
