Sparky fandom will never actually get better than [livejournal.com profile] peanutbutterer's National Geographic Photography Series of Action Figures In The Wild.

Ladies and gents, let's pack up the flying city, I think we're done here.

[livejournal.com profile] sparktober!!!!!

PRETTY MUCH!!

And as if to celebrate, [livejournal.com profile] irony_rocks discovered that I won a fandom award I didn't know about! She won too, and she didn't know about it either. Thank you, Gatefic!

("Ascent" is here, for those of you who didn't know me in 2005 or are like "Jaysus, Little Red, when are you going to organize your fics into some kind of useful index?" Or both. And wow, I feel like a tool for not replying to all those comments, but I probably shouldn't do it now six years later.)

I haven't completely finished my Day 1 Sparktober fic, but there's tomorrow and it's been a long week and there was work and Red Sox and more work and mentalness and then there was Sparktober and weekend and the former lj user nafy being the awesomest of awesomes and I really just need to curl up and snooze and soak in happiness and things I have done well and how other people remember me even when I don't. <3 I'm really lucky.

[livejournal.com profile] anr made me a whole series of beautiful Trip/T'Pol banners ages ago, and now I've put them up on my journal!

[livejournal.com profile] mylittleredgirl[livejournal.com profile] mylittleredgirl[livejournal.com profile] mylittleredgirl

My journal design is not so stellar, but please refresh a few times and admire all the banners, which I've put in rotation. <3 <3 <3

My moodtheme is [livejournal.com profile] anr's too. Basically everything on here belongs to her, haha. Which means that she has a metaphorical garage full of Dancing With the Stars glitter crack, but who doesn't, really?

Perhaps now more Enterprise fic will happen by sheer force of inspiration!

(On another topic, I'm stuck at ~700 words of breakfast on [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang. They're actually 700 really fucking depressing words, too, because I thought I'd start by writing Sarah from The Dead Zone right after Johnny Smith's coma-causing accident. Good one, Little Red? SIGH. Anyway, I thought BREAKFAST! Breakfast is a sure thing for me with writing! But now that's not going so well, and now my muse is all, 'maybe a long story would be easier!' because she's contrary. She suggests a version of The Road To DIAMONDS which would basically read like Dancing With The Stars: In The Tradition Of Sally Reeve. Or maybe I just need to restock my cereal cabinet and then breakfast fic will happen? Man, fanfic seems so easy when I don't actually try to write anything in particular.)

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] havocthecat!!!

In honor of her birthday, we threw a porn battle in [livejournal.com profile] sparktober (honestly, wtf else would you do for her birthday? i ask you!) and there has been INSUFFICIENT PORN!

My flist is a collection of some of the naughtiest minds in the fandom! Please, get ye to Comment-Porn-Fic-Battle-Fest-Thing! post haste (that means omgrightnow!) and contribute prompts and porn snippets and general flailing!

*totally overwhelmed*

I AM SO HAPPY!!!

YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I totally did not cry at all when I read the planning posts. NOT AT ALL! Dammit, I totally did.

Item 1: I'm not worthy of you guys! (Particularly [livejournal.com profile] havocthecat who not only ORGANIZED it and kept it a secret from me but organized it and kept it a secret from me while having daily chats with me about how much I love sparktober. But also: EVERYONE.) YOU ARE SO AMAZING.

Item 2: HOLY GOD THIS WILL BE THE BEST SPARKTOBER EVER!

[livejournal.com profile] sparktober [livejournal.com profile] sparktober [livejournal.com profile] sparktober

Read! Write! Rec! Link! Picspam! *flails* (OK, so actually, they have PLANNED THINGS. They have planned a fic a day EVERY DAY FOR THE MONTH to celebrate Sparktober and how lantis is amazing and everyone should go revel in that!)

I really can't believe it! *is living the dream*
mylittleredgirl: (Default)
You know why? I just spent the evening with [livejournal.com profile] hihoplastic and [livejournal.com profile] peanutbutterer! Who are both substantially cooler than me, and I have MOOCHED their coolness for the purposes of the subject line of this post.

(pb is exactly as cool in real life as she is on the internet, which is to say, very freaking cool. hiho is less excitable than I expected while still being very excitable, probably because my previous interactions with her have gone something like <3 <3 !!!!! <3 <3 !!)

We came up with totally brilliant fandom plans that we're probably not motivated enough to actually implement, and which have probably already been done while we weren't paying attention (a cliche ficathon - that happened, right? an episode-related-athon? how come I miss all the cool stuff?). Also, Elizabeth Weir's hair. And what we might accidentally say if we met Stargate actors ("Hi! It's great to meet you! I've totally written porn about you! ... Nice job in Bliss!").

[livejournal.com profile] peanutbutterer reminded me that Sparktober approacheth. [livejournal.com profile] hihoplastic encouraged me to go on a leave of absence from work to write "Second Chances," which she has never actually read and would likely have no interest in since she's not an SG-1 fan, because she's just that good at enabling people.

The moral of this story is: you wish you lived in Oregon right now. :) (And I wish hiho were not going to pursue higher education elsewhere to better herself or learn something or whatever. Hmph!)

As an aside, pb, we totally need Sparky credentials. Like for real. They should be laminated, and we should scare all our coworkers with them whenever they casually mention they watch the Sci-Fi channel.

So I'm not doing Script Frenzy. But [livejournal.com profile] joyfulfeather is, so if you are also doing that, you should go check out her Script Frenzy Friending Post!

Then you can associate with people who are equally crazy dedicated!

love me!

SecretAdmirerAnonymeme

I mean, my flist tends to be a mutual adoration society anyway, so I'm not sure the anonymity is required, but everyone should do this because I'd love an extra opportunity to adore you. :)

(Does anyone else do these anonymemes and feel like there is no way to couch their writing style into actual anonymity? It's like I tick the "post as anonymous" button and suddenly I can't think of anything to write except "omg! gleee! sparky! *flail*!" and I would probably be a really terrible spy.)

BANNERS

mylittleredgirl: (Default)
Yes, I totally just posted about this, but then someone made BANNERS:

my mad skillz - - havocthecat's mad skillz - - medie's mad skillz - - triciabyrne1978's mad skillz - - leyenn's mad skillz - - who did I miss?

p.s. we should, like, do this when there wasn't a horrible natural disaster sometime. because I'm excited and then feel like a heel for being excited because horrible natural disaster and then there's news reading and tears! so maybe later we should throw ourselves an auction where we trade each other mad skillz for mad skillz, and no earthquake, and i will be really excited then instead?

Title: "Simplifying Fractions"
Keywords: The Happy Voyager Project. Ocampalets. Harry Kim. If you're not [livejournal.com profile] aj, chances are you will not appreciate it.
Dedication: Good thing it's for [livejournal.com profile] aj then, with birthday gleeewishes!

Okay, I don't usually do GIP posts, but I just went through hundreds and hundreds of icon posts (thanks [livejournal.com profile] medie for the roadmap!) to get more Trek icons for the purpose of the megatrekathon, and this? IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF TREK ICONS.

I am sure you will agree.

I would like for [livejournal.com profile] lemonrocket to come and design my life the way she designs icons!

(Also: Dear Everyone, go to [livejournal.com profile] rightonicons for animated-series Trek icons and epic hilarity. I do not think I would like for her to design my life, because I would be surrounded by animated wolves in velour outfits.)

I need a Trek moodtheme nao. *hunts* EDIT: Oh, I had forgotten that [livejournal.com profile] anr had a Trip/T'Pol moodtheme! SCORE. :)
mylittleredgirl: (Default)
to the fabulous and wonderful [livejournal.com profile] anr!!!!!!

There are many wonderful things to like about Nessie. Nessie is the mostest fabulest fandom drug pusher out there (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] aj, you are a close second!). I mean, the chick got me into RPF of all things, and all through the innocent little gateway drug of sparky and enterprise and all these other harmless little things.

But you know the REAL problem with [livejournal.com profile] anr? She lives in Australia, which is the most expensive place ever to escape to! But I still have plans of saving my pennies and running away to live under her bed where we can write fanfic together and rekindle the squeee through lots of intensive teevee-watching and article-reading.

<3

Mad love, babe. Happy birthday!

If you have 1.5 minutes to answer a poll, please clicky this underlined text to go to [livejournal.com profile] ashism's journal and give her data for a project thinggy she's working on! I'm not quite sure what it is, but it involves "cashflow" and "higher education" and something.

Please go now! She's offering free icons, it looks like, and since [livejournal.com profile] ashism rocks my socks, I'll offer free drabbles to those who answer her poll. Go answer poll, then comment here with what you want!

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] izzildor!!!

May your day be filled with all the gleee you can handle. :)
mylittleredgirl: (Default)
ZOMG YAY!!! Moar cards! :-D Thank you [livejournal.com profile] besyd, [livejournal.com profile] majorsamfan and ... omg, I don't have them right in front of me for I am at work, and I got a card from someone with a cat-related username! Proper kudos will come later. :-P

And a Mysterious Envelope from [livejournal.com profile] phrenitis which sister grabbed and wrapped before I could open and said "Remember how last Christmas she sent you presents but they were really FOR ME?" (because last Christmas there was Harry Potter stuff, and by default, anything Harry Potter that enters our home is automatically my sister's). And bracelets from [livejournal.com profile] calleigh_j that she might have made herself but I can't tell! Are they handmade, sistah? :) I opened them before Christmas, but that's yay, because I could then wear them with my Christmassy outfit to work today. :)

Eeeee. I am super-psyched for xmas now that I have a job and am no longer running on caffeine and crazy-fumes. However, it's in just a few days, so I will probably end up doing a lot of Christmas! In! January! things for my friends and relations, especially All Y'All.

I'd really like to be writing stocking-stuffer fanficlets right now (I'm at work, but, um, it's the weekend before Christmas and pouring rain and nobody wants to buy a condo today)! But it's a bit of a challenge to switch back from Holy Employment Stress! to Random Family Gleee! mode. Please give me little challenges! :-D

Until you give me challenges, I will be here pretending that I can actually finish knitting these pressies in the next three days. Christmas! In! January! for the win, and also for the necessity.

Edit: The challenges don't have to be holiday-themed! But they can be. :)
mylittleredgirl: (Default)
So much xmassing! :)

ExpandOnly 7 More Shopping Days! )

And then I got home to more xmassing!! :) [livejournal.com profile] izzildor, your pressie arrived and sister wrapped it before I could see! (So I will still pretend to be surprised, omgyay!) And thank you so much for CARDS which are now on my tree to [livejournal.com profile] alianne, [livejournal.com profile] jacksrubberduck and [livejournal.com profile] slm76!

***

In non-xmas news, I got official reject notices from a couple of jobs and am interviewing for a couple more. Today, I had a wonderful interview for a wonderful position that does not actually exist. They want me to come back tomorrow to meet more people for this entirely hypothetical position, which would be soooo exciting if, you know, they hadn't already told me there pretty much wasn't a job? They also want me to draw up sample marketing materials for them, for fun, maybe. Very confusing. I also have a phone interview with an industrial company who is disappointed that I do not have more experience with hydraulics. I don't know what a hydraulic is. I just looked at their website, and it really didn't clear it up for me at all. *feels rather terminally unqualified*
mylittleredgirl: (Default)
I would do Diamonds and Coal, but it's 2 am. OMG.

Bad: That bit I mentioned earlier about how we were all kind of just given notice at my job, although no one quite knows when we will be axed, but in the meantime we'll have to deal with lots of yelling people and my coworkers banging their heads against the walls and crying into their iced tea.

Good: I re-did my LJ, icons & profile to make myself feel better! It is Peanuts-themed. Yay! Snoopy is truly a dog for all seasons. I can also keep changing the header so that Happiness Is... different things on different days, because I'd like to be cool like that.

Bad: I can't figure out how to remove the tags section in this theme I'm using. And I have a lot of ridiculous tags that I used, like, twice, but can't bear to part with. I also can't seem to switch it to show just basic view when you click "reply," so you'll be subjected to my desire to pretend to be inside a newspaper comic strip. Let me know if it really buggers things up.

Good: One of you might know how to fix these things!

Bad: It's 2 am. OMG.

Good: It really did make me feel better, though. :)

And for tomorrow:

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] lisayaeger!
(birthday fic is coming! ehm, hopefully soon, even!)
mylittleredgirl: (Default)
Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] karma_aster!!!!!

I have no ficlet prepared for you, because I couldn't decide via my crystal ball what you would most like! So sometime today, drop me a challenge (pairing and any other challenging thingger -- i.e. a place, an object, a bit of dialogue, whatever) and a birthday ficlet will appear! :)

*loves you liek whoa, even when you are sad*
