For how big a role holosuites play in the culture on DS9, there are surprisingly few holodeck episodes. To the best of our knowledge, no one ever got stuck in the Alamo program while Santa Ana attempted to take over the station (in fact, we never see the Alamo, or the Battle of Britain, or any number of other programs that are constantly discussed).

So, on to the remaining five holodeck episodes of Deep Space Nine!

I don't see how hiding out in one of Julian's adolescent holosuite programs is a good sign. )

Next up: the holodeck episodes of Voyager. That seems like it might take a while! Did that crew do anything except hang out on the holodeck??

Nana Visitor has a cooking show on youtube.

If you happen to be in the Magic Picture Box camp with me who believes that TV is this magical thing that comes to you fully formed, you should prepare yourself for some cognitive dissonance, because if there's one thing you really never imagined Major Kira doing, it was probably cooking gourmet food with interludes of interpretive dance.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

For [livejournal.com profile] awesome_women, I did a post for Jadzia Dax and Kira Nerys.

Good lord, I love Deep Space Nine. I can't really watch it while I'm doing other things, either, because I get all gripped. It's impossible to pick just one episode when you're loving on a particular character, because it's so arc-y. I guess my fallback episode(s) when I need a DS9 hit is the trilogy from the beginning of season 2 ("Homecoming"/"The Circle"/"The Siege"), because omgzzzz, that is the moment when I went YES, YES, THIS SHOW NEEDS TO BE THIS. And then it was. And it was good.

For the record, my current default-I-need-a-hit episodes for other shows:

SG-1: "Redemption"
Atlantis: "Hide & Seek"
Babylon 5: "Soul Mates"
TNG: "I, Borg"
Voyager: "Shattered"

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm 90% sunshine and rainbows and snark. :-P

[livejournal.com profile] liminalliz wanted, and I quote: "OMG OMG OMG. Write me Kira Nerys and Jadzia Dax post-holosuite Camelot adventures!! If you throw in Kira/Odo angst for good measure, I'll love you forever."

I did what I could. :)

Season 4, sometime after 'Crossfire' )

[livejournal.com profile] rosewildeirish is looking to start smoking from the wonderful DS9 crackpipe of awesome! She figures she should start at the beginning of Season 4, since that's when things kick into high gear and the ratio of OMGHOLYAWESOME to ehhhhhhwhat? is a lot better. So she asked me for my opinions on which of the first three seasons she needs to see. (Think of all the stuff she'll miss! The Jake & Nog Show! Bashir being a spaz! The Provisional Government! The CARDASSIAN VOLES!)

I picked out the ones I think are key -- but those of you who are DS9 peeps, chime in! She's not spoilerphobic (I don't think -- are you?), so you can discuss plot happenings in here. And FYI, she doesn't like Jadzia, so I avoided Jadzia-heavy episodes... but you can mention those if they're your favorites for my sake.

Google reveals this website for a list of episode titles. Clicking the titles seems to bring up the synopses for the seasson.

Dear Rose, You Should Really Watch These: )

Okay, so, I rewatched "In Purgatory's Shadow" just now, and I was wrong about a lot of things:

Let me count the ways in which this is all totally obvious! )

I'm watching season 5 in a breathlessobsessedagain sort of manner (OMG THE FABULOUSNESS!!!!), and I have a VERY IMPORTANT DILEMMA that I can't discuss with my boyfriend yet, since he is UNSPOILED!

All of you who are not unspoiled and can stand me going on about silly Star Trek timeline things, click here! There's a poll at the end... )

OTHER THINGS I NEED to complete the madness: 1) A Deep Space Nine layout/header/something. How cool would it be to have a layout that look like DS9's bizarre Cardassian layouts? I THOUGHT SO. 2) Deep Space Nine moodtheme. 3) ALL MY ICONS to be replaced with DS9 ones. 4) To mainline the rest of Season 5! 5) NEW BRAIN DRUGS so that I can write fic instead of silly posts like this!

Friday is still a work day, but this week has wiped me out so throughly, I'm okay with taking my morning break by soliciting flist opinions on this very important Star Trek conundrum.

Trills! Trills! Trills! )
