dirty words

I SO ROCK. More than a third of the way there! Yeeeahhhh! (And there's 1/3rd of the month left! I have symmetry, if not pacing!) For a section that I wasn't convinced even needed to be in this story at all, I managed to get out a bunch of words, and I think I figured out these characters. (Mind you, the next time we see them, they're about 10 years older, so I'll have to figure them out again.)

My friend Storm told me a story this morning over brunch about some author (Harlan Ellison, I think she said?) who used to write his short stories in a cafe, and as soon as he was done with a page, he'd post it in the window so he couldn't go back and change anything. In that spirit, LJ is my nano cafe window. Read at your own risk. :)

Turning off the internet = shockingly helpful. Also, I adore my 12-year-old Boy Wonder's bitchy 15-year-old sister, so I brought her along to NASA to gush about a TV show featuring Futuristic Luke Perry In Space, and that made me lol. Plus, Colonel Skinner's character has been introduced! Plus, I'm planning to make said character's wife be a professional dancer because Dancing With the Stars ate my brain, shut up.

Must go acquire caffeine as prize, I think. Then, moar writings so I can spam you with updates. *mwah*

Time for a LR-enabling poll! Seriously, I am not going to hold it against you if you're not interested in my fake teevee show novel dealio, because I really expected no one to be interested. Then a few someones told me they were going to read it (!) and they even wanted me to post it as I go so they can harrass me for more (BUT IT'S NOT FANFIC!?!? I AM CONFUSED!). I'm totally crazy! But honestly, it will be unbelievably nice to bury my head in something other than my life for a month (well, another month, because sparktober was pretty darned efficient at that too!). It's like that old saying, when the going gets tough, the tough get enabled to do nanowrimo.
