Dylan Hart*, team leader: Lee Thompson Young [*since Dylan is unfortunately one of the whitest names ever, for serious -- do I change it? To what?]

Suggestions welcome!, **OK, he won the poll fair and square, but since Zachary Gilford lost out for Dylan, can I cast him as this? He's more clean-cut and therefore can pass more as being corporate.]

HAHA, yeah, there's an element of color-blindness in all- or mostly-white communities, I've found, where people are kind of actually blind to race instead of acknowledging it? I thought of casting Dylan a white mother though, for the name, and because I have cast white chicks as his love interests, so it would be all freudian? It's weird -- really, it's like I'm pretending this is an actual show, where people will write editorials about it based on promo shots without really reading it.

There are some fake shows out there that have 100% white casts, which bothered me when I saw them. I was going to make a thinky post about it.. but my own cast seems to be suffering from token-minority-itis. :| So it's probably not my place to judge.

But to look at it from another direction.. tv already suffers from whitewashing, and I picked my actors from my favorite tv shows mostly, and I had an extremely hard time coming up with any non-white actors to put in my roles. I got Zoe Saldana who is not even a tv actor, and Ninomiya Kazunari who can't even really speak English in reality. I was having a hard time finding non-white actors who fit the roles as I saw them in my head because there wasn't much of a pool to start with, I think.

In short, I LOVE LEE THOMPSON YOUNG AND I'M GLAD HE WON.

It was remarkably difficult for me to find an actress who wasn't stick-thin, so I can only imagine! And I had the resources of my whole flist to do it!!

I love that THE FAMOUS JETT JACKSON is the star of my new teevee show. SO AWESOME! HEE! :) I think I will probably have some thinking to do as I write, though, because I will automatically write things in based on something I pick up from my black coworkers, will then make me stop and think "As a white woman writing a black man saying this... am I allowed to say this?"
