Two Ways I Realized pellucid Was Actually Right All Along

So as far as Babylon 5 goes, I kind of got the whole Susan/Talia thing, but I didn't really get it.

So then I read icepixie's really clever "Five Things that Never Happened to Susan Ivanova", which is really quite light on the Susan/Talia, but somehow bit me in the brain. (DUDE. I so want to write a "Five Times Susan Was In The Psi Corps And Talia Was Also There" but that seems TOO SPECIFIC, and also like FIVE MAY NOT BE ENOUGH.)

I still love Talia/Garibaldi tho, okay?

Because I kind of also have this plot bunny biting me in the face about how obviously Control would have chosen Garibaldi as the easy mark in the command staff for Talia to get close to since Susan hated her while he wanted in her pants, yes? And so that should happen? And then collossal angst perhaps and Psi Corps intrigue?

Heh. So light that she almost wasn't in there at all--I had some random teep woman in that section for a while, until I realized, "Oh. I'm writing Talia, aren't I? Er." *changes name and adds more UST*

But yay that the fic helped you see a new ship!

You should TOTALLY WRITE IT. I'd read it gleefully, and I really don't read much Susan/Talia. (I just...well, you know my issues with Talia's character. Actually, I should probably try reading more fic with her in it, because fic writers are bound to make her more interesting than she was on the show.)

Psi Corps intrigue for the win! And it would totally have been more logical for Control to choose Garibaldi as the easy mark--although maybe his inherent suspicion scared Control off?

HAHAHA. Yes, it had to be Talia. I really have always loved the idea of The Adventures of Young Talia And Lyta In Psi Corps Academy, and this was kind of like that, except with Susan!

(And yet, the new ship is still not YOUR ship. But that always is the way of things, isn't it?)

I REALLY MIGHT WRITE THAT. I'm so bad at Five Things fics, though, because I always write FOUR things and then can't write the fifth one. I have SO MANY STORIES that just need a last scene. So perhaps I will write "An Unspecified Number Of Scenes Where Susan Joined The Psi Corps And Talia Was Also There." Heee.

And it would totally have been more logical for Control to choose Garibaldi as the easy mark--although maybe his inherent suspicion scared Control off?

Actually, I feel like the fact that she didn't choose Garibaldi is the greatest case for how Control really didn't have that much influence over the direction of her life. Because really. It's so obvious. She could have had that man wrapped around her finger in no time, and would have totally been in their secret rebellion cabal, and caused great problems for everyone.

And for my New Ship Of The Week, it's also interesting to consider what would have happened if Talia had stayed around for the whole series, playing a lot of the role that Lyta played (presumably), except that Ivanova would have had this ongoing emotional relationship happening while all the crazy ish was going down. And what would the Psi Corps have done once B5 pulled away from Earth with Talia still on board? All these questions! I often get frustrated that other people have not already written exactly the fics I want to read. ;)

Ah, well. It's all good; I've been shocked at the number of Michael/Susan fans coming out of the woodwork since I started writing them, both on LJ and FFN. I had no idea so many people shipped my alternapair! Validation, yay!

Hmmm. GOOD QUESTION. I think one of them still would've kicked the bucket by the end, just because Susan's life is THAT TRAGIC.

Probably kidnapped her. Or somehow taken down the station. They aren't letting her go that easily. :D
