Okay, so, this was not supposed to be this bad.

The surgery was fine, I'm still alive, yay. However, the pain keeps getting WORSE AND WORSE, contrary to promises, and although my coworker promised it was Teh Awesome In An Addictive Way, Percoset doesn't really do anything.

I FINALLY figure out a way to stop puking it up every damned time, and now it just... DOESN'T WORK. I need, liek, a shot of morphine. I'm taking the max allowed on the label (I've burned through a whole bottle and now have NONE left) I can't sleep more than an hour ANYWAY.

I was totally chill about being in, liek, ridiculous dramatic adjectives of pain, because I was talking myself down about how I must be a TOTAL PANSY because EVERYONE ELSE got over it JUST FINE, but my fever hasn't gone down and I am in lots of pain and am now unable to stop being HYSTERICAL because the freaking doctor's office is CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND THEY HAVEN'T ANSWERED MY CALL (okay, it's exactly 9 am, but I've literally been waiting since FRIDAY NIGHT to call them, so the fact that they're closed on Monday is... well... hysteria-making, because they swear on their material they won't refill prescriptions on the WEEKEND, and who the hell thinks the weekend is gonna include Monday? And my mouth tastes like rotten food, which is really disgusting, and yes, I have been brushing and rinsing and all that.)

Now I need to grovel (via email, since I can't really talk) to work and hire a temp to cover the next few days and pray they don't fire me.

Anyway, it's either crazy infected or I'm a pansy. EITHER WAY, I'd like a 2 x 4 to the head, plz. OR MY MOMMY.

No need to reply to my hysterical whining because I haven't had the brainsense to check email much anyway.

Ehm, in happy news, 4 eps of Jake 2.0 on Friday were awesome. Yay? *puts on Star Trek*

zomg, they have an emergency # and I called it and someone will call me back within half an hour after she consults with the doctor. OMG YAY. PRESCRIBE ME ANTIBIOTICS AND HEROIN, OMG.

I don't care that you got through to someone, if it's infected you need to actually SEE a doctor, right now.

GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. Or call your regular doctor. One or the other. Or I will come out there and kick your ass and then you'll be in pain in two places.

First, you poor thing!

Second, er. Maybe you should consider finding a dentist that is open today? Is there such a thing as emergency dentist? Failing that, maybe a walk-in clinic or the emergency room. Because I'm thinking that lots of pain + fever + throwing up + nothing works = needs attention now, not whenever your dentist decides to be open.

FEEL BETTER! *sends good thoughts your way*

I finally got someone on the phone! If they can't see me today I will ask if I can go see someone else to prescribe me stuff at least. Because, omg, EW.

EMERGENCY ROOM, NOW!! THIS IS AN ORDER!!! YOU SHOULD NOT BE THROWING UP!!

From: [identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com
Throwing up isn't actually what worries me, since pain & narcotics tend to do that to me anyway. I'm just worried about the fever and the fact that I AM IN RIDICULOUS PAIN!! But I just called the doctor's emergency number and sobbed a lot, so someone will call me back within half an hour.

Dude, I threw up blood because I was allergic to the medicine. I was in a bit of a hurry earlier so I forgot to add that you shouldn't be in pain either - mild discomfort is the norm. The fever is very bad as it could be an indication of infection or dry socket.

Dude, I feel your pain. I had my Wisdom teeth pull last year too and I had to go under General Anesthesia too. But I guess my Dentist did a good job because I wasn't in too much pain. Though I did feel like someone socked me really hard in the face twice once on each side. I was able to get away without using the weak pain killers he gave me. But it still hurt. I couldn't eat real food for 2 weeks. I think I lost 10 lbs from that ordeal. So there was some good from all that pain. LOL

I had something similar that turned out to be a dry socket, which was the result of the vomiting from the pain meds. This might be what you have. If so, the good news is it feels better pretty quickly once they do something about it.

DUDE. That would be SO AWESOME. I am so down with the quick fixes. *whew* I'll just hold that thought with joy.

is it all four that hurt, or is it localized to one or two, or does it just hurt too much to tell?

Oh man, that sucks. :( I had mine done when I was in junior high, and went under general. It's all sorta hazy, but I was throwing up, in pain, etc. *hugs*

From: [identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com
Oh, dear! *comforting hugs* I saw you called the emergency number, which = good! Because the fever is not right. You probably have a low grade infection or something. When I got my wisdom teeth out, the pain meds made me loopy and pukey and did not actually relieve any pain - apparently, I'm the only person in the world whom codeine does nothing for. So I completely feel your THEMEDSAREN'TWORKINGOMG pain. IT SUCKS. *clings* I hope the emergency number tells you good things! And gives you morphine or something!

Date: 2007-02-05 05:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com
OMG. No, you and I are the TWO people in the world that codeine DOES NOTHING FOR. I wonder what else they can give me since I'm allergic to aspirin & ibuprofen? (I know. My life SUCKS sometimes!)

Date: 2007-02-05 08:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com
OMG! It does suck for you, but I am glad I am not alone in my freakishness. I know I turn to naproxen sodium for most of my pain relief needs - that stuff is crazy good. (Brand name Aleve. It's for more than just arthritis!) They sell it over the counter, all you have to do is up the dosages when dealing with extreme pain. Naproxen sodium will kill nearly any pain I am having. *clings to it for dear life*

Date: 2007-02-05 08:42 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] chieur.livejournal.com
a hint, tho: be careful around naproxen if you're also allergic to asprin and ibuprofen. it's in the same class of drug, and could cause the same badness as other NSAIDs.

just a warning.

and now for magic mojo:

GO AWAY BADNESS. LEAVE LITTLE RED ALONE!!!

From: [identity profile] matthios.livejournal.com
not just if you have issues with asprin and ibuprofen. naproxen can be a seriously evil drug and has been known cause kidney malfunction and shutdown (in a non allergy kinda way).

in short aleve=devil.

*HUGS* Listen to the good people above. I hope the emergency lady is helpful... but if not, get thee to the emergency room. I've never heard of a good wisdom tooth experience, but yours sound much worse than others.

Sounds like you might have a dry socket. I'm glad you were able to contact someone and get something to help with your pain. Hang in there.

Morphine is totally what you want - I had it before an emergency appendectomy, and it was just the best thing ever. Hope your emergency lady is helpful. *lots of hugs*

I had the same problem when I had mine taken out. Most narcotic stuff makes me throw up or doesn't work.
I actually went to the ER and got a shot of morphine. It didn't help either.

The dentist finally stuck some foamy things with clove oil on them into the tooth sockets.

That was the best thing ever. It worked well and quickly and I wondered why they just didn't do it right away.
