(I know a guy who grew up in Indianapolis and knew Dan Quayle. They went to different schools but both did speech and debate in the time when Indy was one of the big powerhouses nationally for speech and debate. He told me once that he could have an "I beat Dan Quayle" button, but so could practically everyone else in the Indianapolis area.)
