I have something to confess:
I'm really bad at keeping up with livejournal sometimes.
keenween may have mentioned something when we met in person about how he started to worry something was wrong when he hadn't seen any Dancing With the Stars crack posts on his friends feed lately. UNDERSTANDABLE!
(I'm kind of underwhelmed by this season so far. It's me, though, Planet Mirrorball, not you! I just needed some space, you know? Go have yourself a glitter sprinkled tanning fest with some nude fabric and poufy sleeves and I'll be in a better mood when you get back! But if you could come back with some reality stars I can hate and some viable rpf storylines it would help - not that I'm trying to change you, DWTS, but you know, you're just not the crack parade you were when we first started going out.)
Really, I disappeared from LJ because I'm terrible at taking photographs. Not even kidding. I set myself up for photo-heavy posts with all of my Monthly Goals and so I either don't take them, or don't transfer them to my computer, or don't feel like resizing them to post...
Also, The Sims. I would blog about that! But it turns out, I'm just as bad at taking screenshots as I am at taking photographs of real life.
Anyway, I am still doing my monthly projects!
February was papercrafting! I had fun, but I didn't do as much as I would have liked, because it was too vague a challenge. My brain translated it as DO ALL THE PAPERCRAFTING and that was too much, so, I bought a bunch of origami paper and made quilt squares with cardstock and then didn't take pictures.
March was "knit a sweater in a month!" month. I chose Ravelry pattern darling "Owls" and was cruising right along on it in delicious Eco Wool by Cascade until I realized, halfway through the sleeves, that I *still* hate knitting sleeves more than anything (which is probably what is responsible for the occasional vest fashion trends in the world, because there's no other conceivable reason why that would become fashionable), and that the sweater would end up too big for me. It's a non-washable wool, so I could shrink it, and then knit long bands since I had provisional cast-ons on the sleeves and lower hem of the body, but... then it was April!
This month I was going to Clean, Organize and Design but I think it will just be Cleaning and Getting Rid Of Lots Of Things, because I'm looking for a new apartment! Mine kept flooding last winter because of a crack in the foundation (maybe - I can't think of why else it would flood from the middle of the floor instead of the edge), and the landlords caulked it over without drying it first, and now there's a lot of mold smell that dehumidifiers and vinegar aren't curing. I have very cheap rent (see also: moldy carpet) so it's difficult to find another place that's neither in the suburbs nor "owned" by a nigerian Craigslist spammer (why do all the spammers ALWAYS claim to be in Nigeria?). I can't resist the lure of the garden, so I keep planting a thing or two every time I walk past. I can just leave these begonias for the next tenant. Surely someone would appreciate these carrots and green onions. Well I don't want these geranium starts to just go to WASTE...
I'm also painting my nails a lot. I've decided my life goals are too ambitious ("be a successful human being" = too ambitious!) so I've scaled them down. Right now, I'm learning to paint my nails all pretty, like I should have done when I was 8. It's ridiculously fun. Today they are orange and sparkly! I just picked up some off-white and black and sparklies (essence polishes are only 99 cents!) and will come up with something else for tomorrow.
This would have been so much better with pictures! Okay, here's one:

What we have here is three coats of Sally Girl "Satsuma" topped with Sally Hansen Dries Instantly Top Coat, paired with Safeway's latest hard cider selection, awesomely named Angry Orchard. The cider is delicious; the nail polish is not edible.
SEE? MY PHOTOS ARE TERRIBLE! Maybe I just need to make a light box and/or stop looking at so many craft blogs where people are really good at taking photographs!
I really really love you guys and am so grateful to have you and your patience! <3
