Happy Tunes! :)

[livejournal.com profile] naushika started it by posting Cee Lo Green's original Fuck You text video, and dammit, it's now a meme. Everybody go to youtube, punch in a song or two that currently make you happy, and spam us with vids. Thank you!

She Moves In Her Own Way by The Kooks. Something totally simple and precious and happy about this song. :)

Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland. The song is adorable, the singers are adorable (how much do you love Jennifer Nettles' short hair!?), and the vid is ridiculous. Still, this song is epically happy when you consider it's probably not actually about a bizarre stalking adventure. I am dancing to this nonstop in my living room.

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
YAY I accidentally started a meme! XD

Here's a couple more:

Jimmy Eat World - Here It Goes. I love this one despite of (BECAUSE OF??) its cheesy lyrics.

ELO - Mr Blue Sky. Old song, but this song NEVER fails to make me dance. :D :D

Mika - Lollipop. The video for this is adorable too. xD Mika is ridiculous candy-coated happiness, I adore him!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Heee! I started with the last one and it's ridiculous! It reminded me of "Raspberry Heart" by whoever does that song. ;)

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Woowww what did I just watch! LOL That was awesome.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
I know right!?!?? I discovered that crack on Dance Dance Revolution and was like "OMFG, WHAT IS THIS."

I'm going to lose all my wacky crazy cred right now when I say another go-to happy song on youtube is "Single Ladies", right??

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
I've always wanted Dance Dance Revolution! I've never known anyone who had it so I could play. :C

Haha, no way! You're talking to the girl who secretly youtubes Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus and Just Dance by Lady Gaga. And California Gurls by Katy Perry. Because. Sometimes you just need happy pop music. :D

[identity profile] fyca.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
YESSS!!!! Thank you! (My roommate is less than thrilled right now, but I'm downright giddy!)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
While we're at it, the happiest song Shakira has ever done:

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
In terms of pure gleeful crack music, I must also give a shout-out to Lazytown's Galaxy:

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahhaa, YAY, LAZYTOWN! I've never even seen a FULL episode but I've watched like all the music videos on youtube, lol. My boyfriend and I randomly sing You Are A Pirate to each other all the time. For a kid's show they put together some crazy silly catchy songs.

Because I have to embed it if I'm going to talk about it:

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
YES YES YES! :-D My sister and I got so obsessed with Lazytown when we were living in our first apartment together that when we got a new place, we painted the walls bright pink and yellow and decorated a la Lazytown. CRAZINESS. We were adults.

Okay, now I MUST add this one to the mix, because it's pretty much the most lolrious pirate song evar:

[identity profile] fyca.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
So appropriate for your NaNo!

Sidenote: There was sooooo much Lazy Town stuff in the airport in Reykjavik. I wanted to buy it all for you!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
REALLY??? OMG. I must go there to visit.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
The other two are SO HAPPY AS WELL!! :-D ELO! Hehehehe.

If other people don't get in on this we'll just have to spam each other. It is decided.

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
:D :D Absolutely!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
More silly happiness! And someone hilariously animated it in MS Paint, which only adds to the silly.

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:36 am (UTC)(link)

Okay this one is just for smiles, but it's a little kid performing I'm Yours by Jason Mraz and it's too adorable for human words.

Aqua - Cartoon Heroes. From the band that did Barbie Girl, LOL. I love these guys, I DON'T EVEN CARE WHO KNOWS.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
OMG THAT CHILD

How could you put Cartoon Heroes and not have this version?? LOL

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
LOL I DIDN'T SEE IT ON YOUTUBE, SO THANK YOU FOR LINKING IT. BEST FANVID EVER BASICALLY!!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
I KNOW RIGHT??? SERIOUSLY IT HAS NEVER BEEN TOPPED.

[identity profile] smishpixie.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
OMG thanks for linking this! I haven't watched this vid for YEARS! I'd forgotten how AWESOME it is! @hearts;

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:40 am (UTC)(link)

I hope I am not the only one who remembers this song!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
I totally remember this song!!!!

Here's a flashback song for me that always gets me bopping, haha:

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
OMG I USED TO LOOOOVE THAT SONG! WOW that takes me all the way back to high school, haha! Awesome!

[identity profile] meg-tdj.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
LOL!! That second one! It's Captain Awesome!! :D

*cough* Sorry, that's probably not the kind of vid you're talking about. Um... how about Ash Koley's Don't Let Your Feet Touch Ground?

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
I had never heard of this before! It's EPICALLY HAPPY!! What a great great video, too! I'm also very impressed with her lipstick, randomly.

[identity profile] meg-tdj.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't it?? The song is used in lottery commercials here in Canada, and during the Olympics flash mobs would randomly start dancing to it in the streets of Vancouver. It's definitely my happy song! :D

[identity profile] fyca.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Fun!

My favorite song right now, I don't care if it's angsty, I get super excited anyway when it comes on the radio:

And my nano song:

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe, both of these songs are played nonstop on the radio station we listen to at work. :)

I think my NaNo song just became the Shakira song I posted above, hehe. Not that it has anything to do with colonizing Mars or anything, but you know!

Everyone loves a marching band! And kids' songs!

[identity profile] fyca.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 02:13 am (UTC)(link)

Re: Everyone loves a marching band! And kids' songs!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
ADORABLE OMG. I love it!!! :)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE YOU SO HARD FOR THAT LAST ONE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Lol.

My sister and I used to sing that song all the time when we were 8 and 9. I have noooo idea where we even heard it in our sheltered little ashram lives, but it was the greatest thing ever. (The following year we couldn't stop singing Bryan Adams' Summer of '69 so we were kinda hit and miss in the awesome department. I still secretly love that song for that.)

Now I must watch the videos after INSTA COMMENTING.

[identity profile] peanutbutterer.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol. We all had our Bryan Adams phases. At least we've moved on!

(And mine was not nearly as long as my Michael Bolton phase. Now that was embarrassing.)

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
Holy crap. These videos are like sending me in a time warp back to my childhood! Amazing!! Yaaaayyy for the early 90s! XD

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
NOW THAT I AM REMINDED OF THE SPIN DOCTORS

My dad used to quote this song to me whenever I managed to get my way, and I would be like THAT'S RIGHT DAD, BETTER RECOGNIZE!

[identity profile] peanutbutterer.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I was going to do this one too, but I figured too much Spin Doctors in one comment just might break the internet with awesome overload.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
RECOGNIZE! :)

This is so crazy happy!! Gotta love the Spin Doctors.

[identity profile] j-guda.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
THE HAPPIEST SONG EVER.

I am bouncing in my chair as I listen to this in another tab.

(Also, I one hundred percent agree with you about the Sugarland song. Probably one of the most listened to songs on my iPod right now. <3)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it's just the water in the image, but this makes me think of Great Big Sea's epically happy "Everything Shines":

[identity profile] hihoplastic.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)

MOST LOLTASTIC FANVID EVERRRRRRRRR. I've watched this an embarrassing amount of times. It's HI-LARIOUS.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
And the ultimate classic!! :) (the actual vid is worth searching up for lols but embedding is disabled, woe.)
