the moral of the meme is: I care too much.

Um. Wow. Mono-insomnia + latenight chats with [livejournal.com profile] lj_nostalgia and [livejournal.com profile] familyarchives results in... more fandom memeage than you can shake a stick at. Voila, my results for the various-ships-within-various-fandoms meme...:

Fandom: Enterprise

One True Pairing Ship: Reed/Hayes. Because they beat each other senseless before sex. HA.

Favorite Canon Ship: Trip/T'Pol. Especially in the shower.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: T'Pol/Archer. Although, a lot less so since Archer stopped being a tool. I might not cause myself physical harm anymore, just sputter a bit about the meanttobe-ness of Trip and T'Pol. He introduced her to pie! PIE!

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: Archer/Hoshi. WHAT? It's THERE, and she already likes his dog. *mutters* it's not sick!

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Hoshi/Mayweather. Because they have so much time off-screen in which to do it.

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Malcolm "kill me now" Reed/Hoshi "more neuroses than you can count on two hands" Sato

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: T'Pol/Hoshi. Hoshi fangirls T'Pol madly, especially in the first season, so there is that... but... *shrugs*

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: Trip/Hoshi. Um... because they're pretty. And there's the one scene with Phlox's wife where I think she has a crush, but that could be because *I* have a crush. That's all, though.

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Trip/Reed. I was all about it until something better came along for both of them. Their love never had a chance. Poor Reed.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Trip/T'Pol. Aww.

Fandom: Babylon 5

One True Pairing Ship: Talia/Garibaldi, dammit!! *sigh* I am so alone.

Favorite Canon Ship: John/Delenn. Their cuteness overwhelms me. And Sinclair/Sakai, especially after they got their own novel ("To Dream in the City of Sorrows"). Marcus/Ivanova make me squeee, for all their awkwardness.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: I was going to say "Londo/G'Kar" because if they have sex, the universe will never recover... but their platonic relationship is too great to threaten. How about Lochley/Garibaldi? WRONG.

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: Susan/Talia/Garibaldi. I just want Talia to have sex with *everybody.* Plus, it makes sense, in a dysfunctional sort of way. And those three are nothing if not dysfunctional.

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Susan/Talia

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Marcus/Ivanova. *SOBS* I need to read a really well-done story where he comes back so that this pairing stops making me sad with the galactic unfairness of it all. And most of the fic I've encountered really *is* like a horribly misspelled car crash, but that's what I get for trolling the descending pit of hell (tm [livejournal.com profile] familyarchives).

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Franklin/Hobbes. I'd really like him to get a honey... so I suppose I can overlook the "this is just because he needs a honey and they were on screen together that one time" nature of this. And the fact that we know nothing about her character besides the fact that she exists and wears scrubs.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: Talia/Lyta. They could *so* have had a thing back in the Psi Corps academy when they knew each other, and it would have been telepathsexsquared, and it would have been the HOT.

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Garibaldi/Lise. They had their thing and I just want it to stay over. Girl has caused him quite enough trouble already.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Sinclair/Sakai. Breeding lots of Delenn's ancestors. *happy sigh*

Fandom: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

One True Pairing Ship: The problem with the term "One True Pairing" is that you only get one. Screw that. Odo/Kira, because, *my God,* "Children of Time" and "Chimera." *swoons* Bashir/Dax, because he loves her twice! Sisko/Kasidy, because it's epic... and yet really really normal. And because she forgave him for putting her in jail.

Favorite Canon Ship: the best part about DS9 is that people actually have sex! So many canon ships! But Miles and Keiko win, because SOMEHOW they manage to keep their family together.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Kira/Dukat. MAKE IT STOP! He slept with her MOM! God. Ew. *takes shower*

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: I could have gone for something more with the O'Briens/Kira relationship... and then... I run away because the O'Briens are good and pure.

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Garak/Ziyal, I guess. Even though she's like TWELVE.

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Worf/Dax. Because I keep yelling "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" at Dax, but it has some great moments.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Bashir/O'Brien. Eh. Meh. Miles and Keiko are sacred. But it's interesting as a UST thing. Really, though, I *love* them as friends.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: Sisko/Kira. If I pretend they aren't both involved in other canon pairings that I really like, I see it all over the place and am a big fan. In the real DS9 universe, I love their friendship.

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: I'd say "Worf/Dax after they got married"... but I think that 'everyone else' probably hates it more than me. I like some things about it a lot, not least of which that it got Worf off of Troi already. But... I missed good ol' slutty Dax, and felt bad for Bashir.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Bashir/Ezri, because, YAY! Go have cute spotted babies!

Fandom: Star Trek: The Next Generation

One True Pairing Ship: Picard/Crusher. *LOVE IT.*

Favorite Canon Ship: Riker/Troi. And Beverly/Jack Crusher

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Worf/Troi. Oh, wait. My eye!!

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: The crew of the Enterprise D are my sacred childhood heroes. Make this question go away. Unless Riker/Crusher counts as being sick, because I totally go there. I don't know, I thought this would be very hot when I was a kid and I still kind of think that. And "The Host" is awesome for letting me have this in a wonderful science-fiction way that doesn't screw up the actual OTPs. Even though it totally means Riker's had her before Picard. Heh.

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Geordi/Leah. "Galaxy's Child" makes me cringe so badly I run into the other room... but... so cute and perfect and made for each other!!

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Riker/Ro. Who have *also* had sex in science-fiction way that allows it to not mean anything. Damn, Riker gets around.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Picard/Anij. I can't help it, I *like* her and like their hands-off romance in "Insurrection." I also don't think they ever see each other again.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: How about... Geordi LaForge and Sam Carter from Stargate SG-1!! Their love is so polysyllabic and in a Jeffries' tube!

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Picard/Vash. I love Vash and all, but I never got it once there was any pretense of it being about more than just sex for either of them.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Picard/Crusher, even just as friends. They should live together and be all old-married-couple-y even if they never get over themselves enough to have sex (although, fortunately, they will. And I'm betting did before "Nemesis"). And Riker and Troi, now that they're *finally* done sowing their wild oats.

Fandom: Star Trek: Voyager

One True Pairing Ship: Janeway/Chakotay

Favorite Canon Ship: Paris/Torres

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Janeway/Paris. She knew him as a kid, and I don't care that they're both blonde. Fortunately, despite misleading pre-series info that totally warped my young mind into constantly looking out for it, they never went there.

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: Seska/Harry Kim. She had one throwaway line about it and I was thirteen and jumped all over it before I knew she was Cardassian and would break the poor boy in half. Old ships die hard.

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Harry/Seven. I *do* love it for more than just the convenience of getting everybody paired off. I do! They're both so cute and awkward! And... well, getting everybody paired off isn't nothing.

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: B'Elanna/Chakotay. It's wrong, and yet...

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Carey/Wildman. I could go there, I suppose, but, like most invented-off-screen 'ships, it would take work. But I love Samantha and Carey both, so, it's logical in that way. And I totally volunteer to babysit for Naomi while they go off on romantic getaways.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: We should hook the Doctor up with Geordi's Leah Brahms hologram!

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Janeway/B'Elanna. Janeway's totally a mother figure for B'Elanna, and that means it should stop. Ditto Janeway/Kes. New rule: Janeway needs to not sleep with young girls.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Janeway/Chakotay, because he's the only one who will put up with her when she melts down 0.045 seconds from the moment when it all gets said and done.

Fandom: The X-Files

One True Pairing Ship: Mulder/Scully

Favorite Canon Ship: Doggett/Reyes. Don’t even tell me it isn't canon.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Frohike/Reyes. What? WHY? How do 'ships like this get started? Because they both have leather jackets? Stop it!

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: It's not sick, but people still yell at me for liking Fowley/Mulder, at least pre-series. And the fact that I can ship Fowley with Mulder or Spender while the show sort of seems to pair her with *their father* is sort of sick, but that's really more Chris Carter's fault than mine, the asshead.

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Scully/Reyes, and I don't really dabble on purpose. One woman asked me to beta, and Reye made me swear to try and write a scene. I can see it in a "that was... weird... yet hot, I suppose..." sort of way, but not "truelove4evah!!1!" by any stretch of the imagination. Monica adores her in a way that could easily get sexual... but Scully couldn't do it. And Skinner/Sharon, although I'm probably alone in that one, too. I want him to stay with the wife that he loves! Is that so wrong?

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Doggett/Scully. I can't help it. They are *so pretty.* But it's too doomed to live.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Skinner/Doggett. I definitely see it on the show and enjoy flailing my hands at the TV whenever it comes up... and yet, I have no real desire for it to go anywhere.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: Reyes/Krycek. Would be hot. Too bad about the death. But she strikes me as the type who would sleep with the devil.

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Skinner/Scully... I really don't see it, guys. I understand that everyone who gets within 20 feet of Scully falls in love with her... but no.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Doggett/Reyes, unless Mulder and Scully stop sucking, dammit.

Fandom: Stargate SG-1

One True Pairing Ship: Katherine/Ernest is the TRUE OTP, I swear! And Jack/Sam. Daniel/Janet. Haley/Walsh. Rya'c/Cassie (they are so meanttobe the moment they're in the same episode! Promise!). *silly grin*

Favorite Canon Ship: Jack/Sam. And Katherine/Ernest for their forty-three minutes of fame! And I *love* Jack/Sara, but in a way where it was amazing and truelove and awesome and isn't going to be rekindled and mess up the *other* S/J.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Sam/Pete. How cliched is that answer? But really... we had our fun with that pairing, make it go away now. And let me toss Daniel/Sarah in there, because she's there as a pale excuse for Sha're. I'd really like her to still be evil, because Osiris was the hottest thing ever, but if she *has* to be un-evil, then she deserves better than to hang around assuaging the guilt of a man who never really loved her to begin with. A hot man, to be granted, but still.

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: Jacob/Selmak is the weirdest I get on this show, I think.

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Sarah/Pete. It sticks it to Sam and Daniel, gets the boy off the back of the OTP, and it actually makes sense! She'll need someone to pay more attention to her than Daniel will as she recovers, plus she would probably *welcome* Pete getting a little control-freak on her. And, even un-evil, she is still pretty close to the hottest thing ever, so Pete lucks out too! *ties pretty bow on nice, tidy 'ship*

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Daniel/Sha're. It is so meanttobe. And then so DOOMED. I don't want to root for them since I know what's going to happen... and yet, I do. Oh, well.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Janet/Jonas. They're pretty, and Daniel's officially out of town. It's a bit Mrs. Robinson-y (other people 'ship this guy with her DAUGHTER) but I can get past that since he's not from this planet.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: mini-OTP!!! Thor *so* took the opportunity to back up Sam's brain in a mini!Carter, especially since he wants Sam and Jack to breed with their impressively superior genes, and has lost faith in the classic!OTP to get their acts together in time to produce offspring. Hence, the mini!OTP. Think about it. They're really impossible *not* to love.

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Jack/Daniel. There are totally moments when I go "wow, if I saw this pairing I would jump all over that moment," but I really like them as friends and don't see Jack going there. I could see Daniel being confused about the whole thing. But as an actual pairing? Can't get there.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Jack and Sam, baby.

Fandom: The Dead Zone

One True Pairing Ship: Johnny/Sarah

Favorite Canon Ship: Sarah/Walt

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Purdy/Sarah. Actually, Purdy/anybody-except-Dana, and that's only because he's had her before.

"You are one sick bastard" 'Ship: I guess it depends on if you see a polyamourous marriage for Sarah with Johnny and Walt as "sick" or "really the only logical thing to do."

"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Johnny/Dana. I like it, I like the way it is/was handled on the show, and I don't think it's got real potential as a lifetime thing. (I missed most of last season. Is she even still alive? I hope so. I heart my slutty redheaded reporter.)

"It's like a car crash" 'Ship: Walt/Dana. No good can come of this. But if Sarah and Johnny hook up (again, some more), these two could totally comfort each other in a way that leaves marks.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold quite yet" 'Ship: Bruce/Alison. He needs a honey and... she exists. It's amazing how many 'ships are formed that way.

"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'Ship: No clue. Is there even anyone left?

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'Ship: Johnny/Walt. I can see where people get it from, I guess, but that really doesn't seem like the best way to stick it to Sarah for refusing to make an solid choice.

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Johnny/Sarah/Walt. Although probably not all at the same time, except on special occasions.

Edited: for neatness and to point out that now I really want to write fic about *eeeverybody.*

Totally agree with you about most of the DS9, TNG, VOY, X-Files, and Stargate. Even though I don't know much about the more obscure Stargate pairings. :) Worf and Dax I do get and 'ship, just because they had lots of hothotsex and he was obviously crazy mad in love with her (I like Imzadi II in that it compares Troi and Dax that way). But...I was always a Julian fan first, and anyone he loves as much as Dax he should get to be with. So, I don't hate the canon 'ship, though if I had been watching DS9 when it originally aired I probably would have been a rabid J/J only 'shipper, and fired sporks at the screen over Worf/Dax. Julian/Ezri is spiftastic, 'cuz he finally got the girl. Plus, pretty babies. :)

You are SO right about Ben/Kas and Miles/Keiko. Nobody writes these (except the one NC-17 Miles/Keiko I found which was *lovely* and sillyhappysweet) cause they're so normal and not interestingly screwed up like the ohers, but it is so wonderful that DS9 has happy normal romances! I utterly heart Ben and Kas getting past the Maquis thing. And dude, "sacred" is the right word for the O'Briens. Don't mess with them! I kinda liked the UST between Miles and Kira, but I am so proud of them for *not* doing it on the show, and want to bop Miles/Kira ficcers over the head with a hard object. I wonder if they would have been attracted to each other if not for the strange SF her-having-his-and-Keiko's-kid thing, though. I kinda think not. I can almost see the G/B and O/B 'ships, but prefer not to go there. Kira/Dukat makes me scream and growl.

And you know, I was *just* thinking about Kira/Sisko the other day. I totally don't see it onscreen (except for a little in "Starship Down" when she's trying to keep him awake, and that was more just ubersweetcool friendship stuff. I love that). But if the world were different, and all manner of relationships changed, they would be quite hot together. They *were* apparently, in the Mirror Universe. (Is it just me, or did anyone else think Ben was going "Cool, I get to snog my two hot female co-workers whom I normally respect too much guilt-free 'cause it's not really them" in the Mirror Universe episodes?) And while I really don't like MU Kira as a person (nor her silver suit...I don't find it hot, just strange) I can see MU Kira/MU Ezri. MU Brunt rocks, btw. :)

Kira/Odo I adore as a friendship, and I heart him when he's in love with her and want to comfort him when he's pining after her. But my personal OTP for Kira is Bareil. BajoranLuv! I like Worf/K'Ehleyr, too, though they're more stormy. Matching ridges, and K'Ehleyr rocked. Shakaar is spiftastic, but I thought them not working out in canon was realistic--they have a great bond, but it's more big sibling/little sibling or mentor/mentee than romance--though the development of the romance was believable.

Add to your list of young girls whom Janeway shouldn't shag: Seven of Nine. I don't *get* that--it must just be Hot People Syndrome, which I confess to in other cases but don't see here. Probably because while I recognize that Seven is pretty, I don't find her hot. I *could* 'ship Janeway/B'Elanna in that I can see the chemistry and they're both hot. But the memory of that mother/daughter hug from "Barge of the Dead" when B'Elanna came out of her self-induced coma and just *glompclinged* to Janeway (to Janeway's surprise) always intrudes. And you didn't mention Janeway/Tuvok. (Love the friendship, think they're both hot, but he is SO for T'Pel only.)

Tell me people don't write Janeway/Kes. (Altnernate-timeline Paris/Kes is OK, though.)

Don't hate Picard/Anij. Or many of the other established non-OTP pairings, whether they be "romance on the side while waiting for Teh True Love to wake up and smell the coffee" like Picard/Anij or "old lost love" like Jack/Sara or Daniel/Sha're or Doggett/Barbara or Jack/Beverly or Ben/Jennifer or....sheesh, these people have tragic pasts!

Good bloody Eru, I think about this way too much. But it's so cooool....

You mean Carter? (I actually changed the icon between when I posted and you replied....) Yeah, she looks happy and pretty there. :) Twas from a website chronicling her hairstyles--I didn't know people did that for other women besides Janeway!

*shakes hands* Pleased to meet you. I met Little Red through the Pit of Voles when I stumbled across "Aristeia." She fed my nascent Stargate fascination--I still know more about the characters from fic than the actual show--and shocked me when I found she had mono, because she was so very prolific a writer.

Odd...one of my aliases elsewhere is Kelara Dax. I wonder which of us came first? (*We* have a right to an opinion on Jadzia and Worf, eh?) I see you are a Sam/Jack 'shipper, with...forty two icons?! Dear Eru, that must be one of the more spiffy paid LJs. Very, very nice icons, by the way....

Sg fans seems to be obsessed with hairstyles. I don't get it but that has more to do with my own hairstyle or lack there of. I'm just obsessed with Sam *g*

Bwah, fanfiction.net. I have fics there but I keep forgetting to update. D'oh.

I actually started using Dax when I went into Stargate fandom. Odd that. I must admit I never liked Worf/Jadzia. I am and always will be a Jadzia/Julian fan and I refuse to ship for Ezri =o|

42 icons? I thought it were 50 *stares* Did someone eat my icons or does this mean I can go upload some more? Ooooooo iconses. Yups, I got a paid account for as long as it lasts. I don't have means to pay for it myself so I'm a kept woman at the moment. But I'm not sure what will happen when my account expires I think in about a month time *clings to lj*

Jara, off to go add you.

Hee. I could easily have mis-counted; if not, you're in the enviable position of having free icon space. :) Spiffy.

Worf/Dax grew on me; I was totally against it at first. Actually, Worf himself grew on me...I've started to see him as more than just a big gruff guy lately. But Julian is the reason I'm into Star Trek at all, I think--watched "The Quickening" and fell in love with this doctor in a blueshirt. So of course my tendency is to choose him over Worf--exactly *why* Jadzia had to go all Klingon I don't know. (Aren't you supposed to do *different* things than your previous host?) I love and 'ship for Ezri because she's Dax, and shows in a tangible way this concept of the-same-person-only-not that we'd heard about but not seen since Odan (and I've not seen that TNG ep yet). I didn't like her as an actress at first, but *shrug* it doesn't bother me as much now. I firmly believe that there's an alternate timeline/universe/whathaveyou in canon Trek in which J/J happened and Worf...oh, married K'Ehleyr or something. Much less angst but much neater. :)

You are currently at your limit of 50 pictures. You will not be able to upload additional pictures until you delete one or more of your current pictures.

Pah!

I didn't like how they concentrated on Curzon Dax and brought that element out in Jadzia. There was so much more inside her and I was getting annoyed with it. *sighs*

The problem was that I was seeing two seasons at once; in one Jadzia was flirting with Julian and in the other she was with Worf. So I didn't really get time to warm up to her being with Worf as I was still squeeing over Julian and her.

I think I like your AU version =oD
nenya_kanadka: thin elegant black cartoon cat (Default)

[personal profile] nenya_kanadka 2004-06-19 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes--there were six other hosts in there besides Curzon! Mind you, sure, he had been Dax for the last eighty years, and of course Ben would bring him up because he knew him, but *still*. I liked "Lives of Dax" because they told stories about the rest of 'em. I am still looking for a good Torias/Nilani fanfic--everyone is all about Jadzia/Lenara femslash, but why can't we hear about the relationship that started the thing? I like Kahn (who is not, of course, Khan!).

I understand about watching two seasons at once! I think I was once watching season five, season three, and season six, or something, in that order every day. So my DS9 timeline is totally screwed up--for example I kept thinking that "The Reckoning", with Jake getting pah-wraith-possessed, was S3 or 4, when it was actually almost exactly the same time as "Valiant"--season six. Really bloody strange! But it means that the concept of spoilers ceases to have any meaning. :)

Must off to sleep a little...good luck with the pictures. I want your graphics program! :)

I have always liked Worf more in TNG than in DS9, but my love for him carried over.

And I LOVE EZRI!!! And I heart Nicole deBoer and she even keeps me from wanting to slap Sarah on The Dead Zone most of the time, which, as any fan of The Dead Zone will tell you, is an impressive thing.

I firmly believe that there's an alternate timeline/universe/whathaveyou in canon Trek in which J/J happened and Worf...oh, married K'Ehleyr or something. Much less angst but much neater. :)

Aww!! So sweet! K'Ehleyr would have been great friends with Dax and Kira once on DS9, Alexander would have grown up less screwed up in the head, and there would have been great happyjoy for everyone. I like your AU! YAY.

Oh, man, I can totally see K'Ehleyr and Jadzia kicking arse together! And Kira. I think K'Ehleyr would have been one of these people who could laugh at herself and get early!Kira to ease up a little bit, without coming across as naive or silly. Like Dax. And I feel so sorry for Alexander--Worf really *wasn't* that much of a dad. Shows how much Dax and K'Ehleyr would have hit it off, though--Alexander and Jadzia got along great.

Sg fans seems to be obsessed with hairstyles.

Really!?!?? WHEEE! Except the hair department on SG really kind of bites, I must say. Except whoever they hired for the beginning of S6, where they actually succeeded in making *no one on the show* look like a complete reject.

I'm obsessed with TV hairstyles in general. In the X-Files fandom I was considered rather ridiculous (Monica's flippy flippy hair!!). It's nice to not be alone in this...
nenya_kanadka: thin elegant black cartoon cat (Chipper Carter)

I loved Monica's hair. Especially the shorter version, the first time she came on the show before she was a regular.

Was all about the DRR for a while. It's still one of my 'ships that I hold closely to the heart and defend from marauders. :)

As you should!!

*snuggles adorable John and Monnie*

They are so cute. Really. The finale was so bizarre that I completely forget it most of the time... but you know, whatever happened, they're together now and thoroughly adorable. No one will persuade me otherwise!

holy!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-19 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
heee! I must address so very much in your long reply. And then go down you and [livejournal.com profile] woodface's chattiness.

Worf and Dax I do get and 'ship, just because they had lots of hothotsex and he was obviously crazy mad in love with her (I like Imzadi II in that it compares Troi and Dax that way).

Dude!! I never read Imzadi II. I know, I know, and Peter David was my favourite author for so long, too... but now I very much have to. I didn't realize that was written in the Dax era. I also get Worf and Dax, I just don't like them after the whole wedding nonsense starts. Even then, I like the pairing okay... I just didn't like the way it seemed to swallow the rest of the complexity of their characters, ESPECIALLY Dax.

Julian/Ezri is spiftastic, 'cuz he finally got the girl.

I maintain that she's better for him than Jadzia, because their relationship gets to be more equal. But that was after a long period of thinking it out in order to decide that Bashir/Ezri wasn't the most doomed and screwed up thing ever. It's not! YAY!

(except the one NC-17 Miles/Keiko I found which was *lovely* and sillyhappysweet)

Share? And you're right. Nobody writes them, and they SHOULD. Little vignettes, even. This meme made me want to write random fanfic like nothing else... maybe I should write out all the pairings, put them in a hat, and randomly draw one for thirty-minute-fic when I get bored someday. That would be fun.

And you know, I was *just* thinking about Kira/Sisko the other day. I totally don't see it onscreen (except for a little in "Starship Down"

That's always the episode when I think "Why don't people ship those two? It makes so much SENSE!" but since then I've started seeing it all over the place. On TV, it very much is just a wonderfully close, emotional friendship (like Janeway/Tuvok), but in another universe it could so have gone another way. And been hot.

Is it just me, or did anyone else think Ben was going "Cool, I get to snog my two hot female co-workers whom I normally respect too much guilt-free 'cause it's not really them" in the Mirror Universe episodes?

HAHAHA! You know, when I first saw that episode I was probably 13, and didn't get the fact that HE TOTALLY HAD SEX WITH THEM!! Watching it again when we got the DVDs, my sister [livejournal.com profile] mystic_isles000 and I were just "OHMYGOD!" Those must have been some... awkward staff briefings there for a while... While I'm (sort of) on the subject -- Benjamin/Jadzia. That was definitely there, but it never went anywhere because they were both "meep! Um... that's too weird. We're not going there."

But my personal OTP for Kira is Bareil

I never really liked Bareil all that much as a love interest, to be honest, although I dig him as a character. That relationship sort of bored me too much to be my OTP. And I LOVE Odo/Kira, because when they get together, they are so grown-up and mature and yet *still interesting.* "Chimera" is one of my favourite shippy episodes of all time, because Kira's totally "I love you enough to never see you again so that you'll be happy" and Odo's all "Um... the fact that she loves me that much? SO worth it." And the end scene! *shippy sigh*

I like Worf/K'Ehleyr, too

I ADORE Worf/K'Ehleyr. I adore K'Ehleyr PERIOD. I can't stand that she died, although that episode was great, and that's really why I can't ship Worf with anyone. Even Dax just... wasn't as good for him as K'Ehleyr.

Add to your list of young girls whom Janeway shouldn't shag:

*falls off chair*

(Altnernate-timeline Paris/Kes is OK, though.)

They were so SWEET!! God, I love that episode. LOVE. IT.

Don't hate Picard/Anij. Or many of the other established non-OTP pairings

I love your whole list of "old lost love" (except Daniel/Sha're... although more so since seeing the movie a second time... but I'm more "yeah, okay" about it than "ohmygodsoinlove!" about it). These people DO have tragic pasts!! And on TNG especially, the romances-on-the-side are SO OTP shippy because the OTP always come together *as friends* to support each other.

Took a few minutes to dig up, but was worth it: Nothing Like The Sun is the Miles/Keiko fic. It's a really sweet fic, especially the beginning, though the sex scenes are a little...unusual...in parts. "Somewhat more graphic, less exploitative and--I hope--more literate" than the average smutf(l)ic, says the author. Beware floating body fluids.

And writing random fics about all or many or any of these 'ships is such a wonderful idea. I ought to either save your list or make my own, since one of these days I've got to start writing out my plot-bunnies again sometime. And I would read your one-shots on most of these pairings for sure.

Beware floating body fluids.

*terrified*

Thank you so much, hon!! I will read it soon and report back :)

And I would read your one-shots on most of these pairings for sure.

Hee! Soon, I hope! Although... *stares, daunted, at upcoming schedule*... okay, maybe not *soon* soon. But sometime!

but Scully couldn't do it

Couldn't do it?? Reyes or women? Scully is *such* a dyke waiting to happen.... hee!! (now *I* wanna go write some fanfic too....)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-19 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
If she went for women, I could totally see her with Reyes, if only because Reyes would take care of her POOR, NEGLECTED BABY for her.

But by that point, Scully was very much MULDER OR BUST. And while I can totally believe the door swings both ways for Reyes, Scully never made me think she liked girls at all...
nenya_kanadka: thin elegant black cartoon cat (Default)

[personal profile] nenya_kanadka 2004-06-19 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That's why I don't ship Scully/Doggett. At least not by season nine. When he first showed up--after she got over her initial intense dislike of him--I can see him being her Big Strong Guy To Hold Onto while searching for Mulder. And with Luke and everything, I can completely understand protective!Doggett over Scully's pregnancy. So they coulda...maybe.... Once Mulder was back, though, she was utterly unavailable for anyone else. Reyes would certainly be more open to alternative relations than any of the rest of them. Don't see Scully as being into random shagging, though, and she was totally fixated on Mulder by the time Reyes came along. Reyes/Krycek made me laugh at the utter silliness-and-yet-hotness of the concept. Another thing that would only work in an AU.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't say I *ship* Scully/Doggett. I would say that the idea fascinates me in a "pretty people should be together" sort of way. If she and Doggett had met before life with Mulder drove her INSANE, I suspect they could have been something -- he's probably better for her than Mulder if you ignore the one-true-love nature of Mulder/Scully. But yay, that didn't happen, and now he gets Monnie and she... well, her life kind of sucks a lot, which makes me very mad at the show. *shakes fist at show*

And yeah. Reyes/Krycek. It's a shame it's completely impossible. Well... it *is* the X-Files... never say never :)

[identity profile] fallon-ash.livejournal.com 2004-06-20 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, of course I'm biased, but there was a scene in all things where Scully is watching the two women, and she has this *look* on her face that made me go OMG!, there's something there...! Mulder is her soulmate, no argument here, but one's soulmate doesn't necessarily have to be one's lover (except in the Xena/Gabrielle case, of course. Also, there's a wonderful Scully/Clarice Sterling fic by Sharon Bowers that explores this concept very well), and this is where Reyes comes in... I don't think liking girls is a problem for Scully, she just never considered it... (and I could go on and on and on......)

fa - who's off to watch all things instead...

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
oh...

Yeah, I don't know that I remember all things that well. I really didn't like it when it first aired, and now I have NO clue where it is (although I have to take down my whole VHS collection so I can paint my room this week...). I totally believe you, though!

[identity profile] lisayaeger.livejournal.com 2004-06-19 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"I dabble a little" 'Ship: Sarah/Pete. It sticks it to Sam and Daniel, gets the boy off the back of the OTP, and it actually makes sense! She'll need someone to pay more attention to her than Daniel will as she recovers, plus she would probably *welcome* Pete getting a little control-freak on her. And, even un-evil, she is still pretty close to the hottest thing ever, so Pete lucks out too! *ties pretty bow on nice, tidy 'ship*

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!

That's the best thing I've heard yet!! Before I knew what was actually happening in that ep, I believed that Osiris left Sarah and invaded Pete's body. Not entirely sure that hasn't happened ;-)

And Sarah is a character I can totally get behind- hot and strong and sexy. I wish she were on more!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
That's the best thing I've heard yet!!

Does this mean that if I write Pete/Sarah you'll read it?? *blinks innocently* Even if it's mostly just to stick it to Sam and Daniel?

I believed that Osiris left Sarah and invaded Pete's body. Not entirely sure that hasn't happened ;-)

HA! You're not alone. You and [livejournal.com profile] besyd must get together and discuss this, unless you already have. She gave me some long complicated story about another symbiote getting removed by the Tok'ra and Osiris still being in Pete and all VERY complicated. And yet awesome. If I understood it, I would SO be behind it because Osiris kicks ASS.

And Sarah is a character I can totally get behind- hot and strong and sexy. I wish she were on more!

Meh. She doesn't interest me that much when she's, you know, not evil. Although, if she kept Osiris' wardrobe, then, MAYBE. But really? I'd prefer that she still be evil. Let's say she still is. That was an eeeevil smile at the end of that episode...

[identity profile] lisayaeger.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
I would read Sarah/Pete in a heart beat!!!

I must talk to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]!!!!

And yes, there was much evilness in that ep, but I do think her smile at the end meant something. Maybe she knows Pete must die!!!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Pete doesn't really have to die if he takes Sarah Far Away From Everything and leaves the OTP alone, does he? Sam and Daniel get to be all distressed that their new relationships broke off (heh heh heh) and run into appropriate consoling arms and Pete and Sarah are off... I don't know, in Indiana somewhere... and everyone's happy! Especially me.

[identity profile] lisayaeger.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
And me! I like how you think :-)

[identity profile] redbeard.livejournal.com 2004-06-20 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Of those series I follow, I'm so with you. The whole Worf-the-bootyman thing that kinda happened (new series? New Worf romance!) always baffled me. I mean, yeah, he's the hulking conflicted man and all that, but, well...weird. Although I have to admit, I kinda liked Dax/Worf - made a lot more sense in my brain than Troi/Worf, which always started the following argument in the back of my head "But...she's meant for Riker!" "But he's a total slut! She can do better!"

Ah, conflict.

Your Archer/Hoshi disturbs me. I'm going to go spork my brain now. And we all know Mayweather/Hoshi is SO happening - oh, you KNOW what they saw when they looked at the Futureprise geneology. Sure they didn't look at who their spouses were. Uh huh. Whatever. They totally left Malcolm awkwardly so that they could go and snog.

Lastly, to amuse you even more, I was hoping to find samx's old favorite Marcus/Ivanova Poetry archive (as read at Hallmark Poets Anonymous), but it seems the site is an old geocities/yahoo site that is now defunct. Sad.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
First off: *happy sigh* regarding Hallmark Poets Anonymous. I recently found some rather ridiculous No One Understands My Pain High School Angst stuff of mine as I was going through my old files... I will have to return to HPA as a Kappa alum to display it! And SO sad about the Marcus/Ivanova poetry archive. Fanfic poetry is just... beyond ridiculous. Although the "online love poetry" I read last HPA was pretty spectacular... how people find love online... you must read it to believe it. (http://www.netpoets.com/poems/cyberlov/1088001.htm)

"But...she's meant for Riker!" "But he's a total slut! She can do better!"

But you forget: She's kind of a slut, too. They both pretty much spent their youths being meant for each other yet doing people in forty-seven star systems and then were like "hey, it's not as easy to get random booty anymore... what say we settle down and get married?" Aww. But we love them anyway.

Your Archer/Hoshi disturbs me.

Hahaha, as it should. It kind of disturbs me, too. But... I was watching the end of Season 3... and was like "Woah. That could totally be there. Meep! And yet... not completely meep." It could happen, although I don't think they think of each other that way *at all* now. But you know, once T'Pol is completely off the market... (I really don't know whether to love or hate my brain for its ability to go there).

we all know Mayweather/Hoshi is SO happening

IT SO IS!! And about the Futureprise... didn't Travis say he ended up with some random other girl? I was all "WHAT? But HOSHI!" And they did indeed leave poor closeted Malcolm so that they could go snog. Maybe in that zero-gravity spot Travis used to hang out in... Muuuuuuch less creepy than Archer/Hoshi!

I agree with you on all of the Trek ones except Enterprise, and X-Files. In fact, it is frightening how much I agree with you up to that point. I even am 'huh?' over Picard/Vash. And I agree with some of the Enterprise.

...Except for the main point of Trip/T'Pol, which I think I would like better, much better, were it not for Trip. For some reason, I cannot bloody stand him. But other than that, you are cool, and I have made friends with people who disagree with me on far, far more important issues, like American foreign policy. We just don't talk about it.

okay so i said hi on your latest entry and one before that, where it got buried in comments and missed i believe.

"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'Ship: Kira/Dukat. MAKE IT STOP! He slept with her MOM! God. Ew. *takes shower*

can i quote this?? cuz i am SO SO SO SO! with you on the Kira/Dukat thing. it's like ew ew ew EWWWWWWWWW. (x.x!!!!!!) even before it was revealed that he got it on with her mother.

i also heart Garak/Ziyal just because i could see me doing what Ziyal did--not caring about all the shit talk ppl would fill her head with and just liking (and later loving) Elim for who he is, flaws and all.

another fan of the Carey/Wildman idea! woo yea! years and YEARS ago an old friend named Claire that i met through a Paris/Torres group started raving about the idea of C/W and she and i and a couple others have been the only ones to even think of the idea. problem is TPTB never did....bah!

"When all is said and done" 'Ship: Janeway/Chakotay, because he's the only one who will put up with her when she melts down 0.045 seconds from the moment when it all gets said and done.

oh my God, SO TRUE. she could blow up the ship and get away with it probly. okay maybe not but still....

can i borrow this meme and do it?

we should talk sometime....all my messengers are listed on my info.

OMGILOVEYOU. ::glomps your leg:: Have I said that before?

Sisko/Kira. If I pretend they aren't both involved in other canon pairings that I really like, I see it all over the place and am a big fan. In the real DS9 universe, I love their friendship.

Really? I never could see this one, at all. Even in the mirrorverse, I didn't catch the vibes. Usually when two people are hot, I can see how they'd be hot together, but with this one, I just...um...don't get it. ::shrug::

Bashir/Ezri, because, YAY! Go have cute spotted babies!

YES! :D :D :D :D And Ezri/Jake. No, I didn't just say that! >.>

Purdy/Sarah

OMGWTFBBQPPCTLA?!?!?! @____@ ::dies::

Bruce/Alison. He needs a honey and... she exists. It's amazing how many 'ships are formed that way.

Oh yes. Very much so. ^_^ Bruce is hot, and he does need a honey...poor Bruce. ;_;

Johnny/Sarah/Walt. Although probably not all at the same time, except on special occasions.

O_O ::does self an injury laughing::

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-06 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? I never could see this one, at all.

OMG, watch "Starship Down"! Right now! That's the one that made me go "... OMG! No, wait."

Bruce really needs a honey, poor guy. I selflessly volunteer. :)

Johnny/Sarah/Walt is THE OT3 OF THE SHOW. Come on. It's the only perfect way to go. :) I really need to get caught up, because the last episode I saw was the Christmas one, and I was all "since when is JJ all 'Daddy! Buy me things!' instead of all 'yo, creepy guy, back up off, k?'"

[identity profile] agentrosecotton.livejournal.com 2006-01-06 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I just realized--you left out Bruce/Sarah. ^_^ That's going in my 'it'd never work in canon, but what the hell?' slot.

I um...never saw that one. x_x Or most of that season. Or um...most of any season before S5. (This is probably why I don't get a lot of everyone's favourite ships.)

If anyone's going to selflessly volunteer to be Bruce's honey, they're going to have to get past me!

LOL. Yes, it probably is the only perfect way to go. Although I quite liked that whole Johnny/Rebecca thing. (No, don't tell me what happens--I've only seen up to the end of the third season, as we have no TV and I must buy the DVDs.) I think Johnny would be okay with that, but Walt would be "No. Just...no. I'm not sharing her."

Hee! I liked Johnny and JJ's father-son relationship developing through the second half of the third season. Have you not seen that yet? They all go fishing and play laser-tag and stuff. It's cute. (

(No, I'm not a creepy old woman, and I don't think JJ's adorable...really!...but I will admit that when he grows up he's going to be a lady-killer.)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-06 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Or um...most of any season before S5. (This is probably why I don't get a lot of everyone's favourite ships.)

...... !!!!! What!? OMG! DO NOW! RIGHT NOW! EEP! *eeps frantically* I'm surprised you are as much of a DS9 fan as you are, actually. It seems to me to be the sort of show that you really need to see all of to appreciate. *shrugs*

I only saw one episode with Rebecca and really didn't like her, actually. I missed season 3 except for that one episode (cable issues, etc), so I'll have to catch up with that. So... what is Walt's deal now that Johnny is JJ's dad officially? OMG I LOVE WALT.

And I actually totally think Walt would share her if push came to shove. He sort of was for season 1, and if he somehow agreed to SHARE HIS KID *shakes head in general puzzlement*...

JJ is adorable. :) I haven't thought of him in ladykiller terms, though, but I'll just pretend this is because I am OOOOLD next to you. Plus, he is wee in the first two seasons.

[identity profile] agentrosecotton.livejournal.com 2006-01-07 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes, I know! X_X It's not my fault! I have no TV and I have to buy the DVD sets, and Nen wanted me to buy Season Five first because of Trials and Tribble-Ations, and I wanted to buy Season Seven because Ezri was hawt was interesting and new, and then I wanted to buy Season Six because it was in the middle and...I haven't bought any since then? ::wince:: Nen filled me in on a lot of what I missed, though. ^_^ And I've seen bits of Season Two.

Hee! But Season 3 was gleeeee... I started to seriously ship Sarah and Walt for the first time in season three! They get their angst over Sarah sleeping with Johnny resolved, and then...they're just all cute 'n stuff! And...and...Walt has a leather biker jacket! <3 <3 And Rebecca gets very l33t after the first few episodes.

Walt um...is actually a lot less angsty about it than you might think. I think he's glad to have it all out in the open, and since JJ still calls him Dad, and calls Johnny Johnny, it's clear who's the daddy and who's the father here. Only Johnny's the dad too...yeah. @_@ I love the emotional angst in this show.

And Walt has a leather biker jacket. <3

Hmm. Walt's always shared her emotionally, but I think he doesn't really like that a whole lot. There's a scene from a third-season episode, where Johnny's talking to one of Walt's old friends, and the guy says "Yeah, Walt's told me about you. He said you woke up from a coma, and suddenly his life was a mess." Johnny looks a little indignant, and then shrugs and says "Yeah, actually, that's pretty much what happened." I think Walt has a lot of resentment about having to share her. But...I'm not a shrink yet. :P And well, see, the kid was sort of Johnny's in the first place, sooo....

Hee! :P You're ooooold. And yes, he's tiny in the first two seasons, but then he grows longish hair and gets to be about ten, and you can see the potential. ^_^ I mean, come on, Johnny and Sarah's kid is going to be hot. It's genetically impossible for it to be otherwise.
