[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
You totally can!!! :-D

The real question is, if you are at work, why CAN'T you be on Star Trek Online!?!?!???

[identity profile] lanna-kitty.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
lol. because I have to have some polish stuff checked in by 6pm for new champs area. I added a phase to an open mission (and slacked off and chatted with opal on IM XD not working efficiently on the weekend)

ZOMG, one of Das Boy's friends wants us to be "The Feds" instead, after A Piece of The Action. It is not as cool and cannot be abbreviated as SMoO. Maybe someone will have already taken that name??? I can hope. *is cross, even though I was the one who suggested The Feds in the first place a few weeks ago*

[identity profile] lanna-kitty.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
ahahaha. yay for friends and guildies x_x

Love the TFCers but Retcon was MUCH more amusing as our Champs supergroup.

ZOMG SOMEONE JUST KIDNAPPED MIRAL PARIS on my boyfriend's computer, since I am not at that level yet.

Warum haben wir schwächere Regeln als Deutsch????

*grr*

You forgot to have a section about the difference when used with definite (as you asked) and indefinite articles.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, that's a good point. Since I usually write "stargate," at least until reviewing the results of this poll, it wasn't an issue. Follow-up poll needed!

[identity profile] joyfulfeather.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
I debate this every single time I write a Stargate fic. Every time.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
I know! I'm hoping poll science can give me a CONCRETE ANSWER.

[identity profile] melyanna.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oddly, I've written a disclosure fic and didn't consider a joke about every political scandal getting tagged with "gate". Clearly I fail at politics!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
HA! OMG, you do! Because I'd have figured if ANYONE would ever have used that in fic, it would have been you, our queen of politics. :)

[identity profile] melyanna.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
It may have been my tendency to scream internally whenever some scandal becomes a -gate that kept me from thinking of it.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I really think "Gategate" would cure you of that desire to scream. ;)

[identity profile] miera-c.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I think "Gategate" might be the only thing that would ever cure the news media of using "-gate" as an appellation for every scandal.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Which could be a good thing. So. Either way, bring on the disclosure! :)

[identity profile] ankareeda.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
If this were German, I would not have this dilemma.

True! :P

[identity profile] naushika.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I HATE IT IN CAPS. IT'S TOTALLY MY PET PEEVE. I don't even know why. I'm probably wrong too, but eh. I like it lowercase.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
I know, I always put it in caps when I write, and then go back and change it to lowercase because caps BUGS ME, but due to popular opinion I think I will have to go with caps. It's like... it's a brand name. Instead of "Let's take the car back to Earth," it's "Let's take the Volvo back to Earth."

I think the only time I ever capitalize is in Stargate Command. Otherwise, lower-case (and goa'uld, taur'i, tel'tac, jaffa, etc.)

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I capitalize Tau'ri and Jaffa. It's like German and Japanese or something. I also capitalize Human, though, in sci-fi, unless I'm using it in the general "humankind" sort of sense.

[identity profile] hihoplastic.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
I JUST GUESSED.

YAY ALIENS!

Does this mean you're writing fic? :D

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
It does! Although not disclosure fic, alas. I just tossed that in there for the lols.

[identity profile] natushka.livejournal.com 2010-02-07 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoo! poll! I just like ticked some boxes. lolz.

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm in ur poll, tickin ur boxes, lol! :-D

[identity profile] froggoddess.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha I voted, which is completely useless since I have no idea what you're talking about. But I seem to agree with the majority. Yay!

[identity profile] mylittleredgirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-08 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
But the ticky-boxing is satisfying, isn't it?? :)
