Heeeee. SO PRECIOUS. Especially when they look like exact miniatures of their parents. I miss having guinea-pigs. My mother used to breed them so we had baby guinea-pigs born aaaaaall year round. :D Teeny-tiny pink toes, soft tubby little tummies, baby noses. ^________^

DVRs are wonderful things, but occasionally they do misbehave. *eyes her own* I'm slowly learning that checking the recording space regularly is good, or it will do things like cut off halfway through the finales of two of my favorite shows.

Unfortunately, though, Ramsey's the one who's not quite alive. She's not quite dead either, she's just... kind of teetering on the brink, so to speak. My poor wee baby. So I'm not 100% back because I'm busy taking care of Ramsey and doing coursework all day (which is going very well, yay), but... yeah. Now you're up-to-date!

Don't worry about the care package! Maybe you can make it a birthday or Christmas present or something. And the only things I've been telling Urgo about you are how stinkin' proud I am of you, dude. Dealing with The Boy issue the way you did, and passing your exam... you are so totally made of awesome. So don't feel guilty!! *cuddles*

Awww, poor Ramsey!! My li'l buddies Porthos & Spot are having a real hard time too. :( They've got lung infections that didn't clear up with meds and so they've got such a hard time breathing... and have for a really long time now. Poor li'l guys! I shoot them in the face with asthma meds at night. I really really hope they recover, because Sister will be sooooo upset when they die. :(

I'm so glad your coursework is going well!!! Getting away from the internet can be a good thing for stuff like that sometimes. :)

Aww, poor Porthos and Spot. I wish I'd had meds to give to Ramsey! My dad called every vet in town, and most of them said they don't treat hamsters, while the others wanted to charge us a small fortune just to take a look at her. So, we've been going it alone. I've started putting echinacea in her water to see if that helps any, but it's probably too late. :(

Getting away from the internet helped muchly! I actually got all caught up, which is fairly unbelievable. I'm slipping behind a little now with the Ramsey thing, though. There were a few days there where I couldn't concentrate at all. But I'm getting straight A's, so yay! I'm still smart! :)

Awwww! There's a vet near us who treats "exotics" like rats, but yes, small fortune. :( It was $120 for the visit and the two medications, and we've done it twice for these little rats already.

You should try putting a little sugar in Ramsey's water, because it will give her energy.

Maybe I'll try giving Porthos & Spot echinacea...

It's kind of sad that rodents are considered "exotic," especially considering they're so common. I'm trying not to assume it's because they're classed as "little-kid pets" and therefore aren't as important as "grown-up pets" like dogs and cats... but yeah, they were gonna charge us around $100 just for the examination, and from what I've read, she would have needed a few visits over the next couple weeks for treatment and followup examinations on top of that. We really don't have that kind of money. Grrr.

We don't have any sugar in the house, heh. Besides, sugar's bad for the immune system and I'm trying to boost hers, so... yeah. I haven't noticed that she's lost much weight, though, so I'm pretty sure she's still eating.

I read online that some of the more expensive brands of rodent food put echinacea in their little grain pellets to help prevent infection and stuff, so it certainly can't hurt! She even seemed to like the taste of it. I just wish I'd thought of it at the very first sign that she was sick. *sigh* I'm pretty sure it's too late for it to do any good, but I'm trying it anyway!

Free advice: If and when you do marry, hire a wedding planner. It may seem like a lot of money but it will save you all the headaches and help you avoid dealing with minutiae that you really don't care about. At least, that's my guess since we didn't go that route.

Woohoo!! Yeah, one of my coworkers is planning The Wedding Of The Year here in Portland, I swear. *shakes head* Anyway, I went to one of her twelve bridal showers and was very afraid by the Stepford Wives-ness of it all. She didn't hire a wedding planner either, but she desperately needed to.
