Re: the specialness of the o'neill.

OK, I remember that episode--I think I saw most of seasons one and two, but I'm not exactly sure where I came in and where I stopped. I saw like from the second or third episode (have read part of the script for pilot but not seen it) and saw at least the ones with Daniel in an AU with longhaired!nonmilitary!Sam ("There But For the Grace Of God", perhaps) and the one with Jack getting all this info in his head that let them boost the Stargate to Asgard territory. And I saw a couple later-season eps when they had a Stargate marathon of "ten best fan-favourite eps".

But yeah. Your explanation now makes sense. It's amazing how they can do weird stuff with genes in sci-fi, isn't it? "Sure, we'll just take someone's Klingon half out and make 'em all-human. Sure, we'll encrypt his genes so no one can copy them..." Got to love it. :D

And I'm not complaining about not understanding everything right off the bat--it's what I get for purporting to be a Stargate fangirl without having watched much of it. And I like the weirdness. :D

I shall fangirl you for fangirling A.j. (Why a capital A and small j, by the way? It's been bugging me for weeks...)
