today, it is a knitting blog

I finished the never-ending sweater of neverendingness!! I still can't believe it took this long -- it's not that complicated -- but I suppose the extended mono of doom is a valid excuse.

The gleee and relief lasted about 8 seconds, and then I went "oh, crap. *Now* what am I going to do?"

I think socks next. Or baby stuff, for all of my friends (and by "all" I mean "two") with new babies or babies-who-will-be-new-in-less-than-a-week. Maybe tomorrow I will go and buy new project goodies.

And, heh, it's actually cold enough in my house right now to warrant wearing a wool sweater. I'd yell "What the heck is up with the freaking weather!?" but I've lived in the Berkshires for a long time and am therefore not that concerned.

by "someone around" I meant a knitting group or a knitting store or something. Check the yellow pages for a yarn store in your area and ask them if there are any beginner knitting groups (they might even host one at the store) where you could pick up the basics :)

Or you might totally not care that much, which is cool, but I pimp knitting to everyone who might-possible-even-vaguel want to listen!!

I will check around as soon as I get the chance. I'm kinda busy at the moment though.

I might try teaching myself though, cause its a whole lot easier to poke around online during my insomnia driven nights than to find time/rember to call a store.

And knitting has always been something I'm interested in, so no harm done with the pimping.

Ah, true... knitting.about.com (http://knitting.about.com) is a good reference source (or it was about a year ago when I geeked out there a lot) and there are plenty of links to how-to sites as well as a forum of exceptionally helpful knitters who are somehow really good at explaining how to do things online if you run into problems. Also, free patterns when you get to those :)

And, of course, I will squeee and bounce and pimp any and all knitting knowledge I have at you upon request :)
