This is gorgeous. There's something so touching about every moment between them that just hit you in the chest. John's want to make it all better, but not being able to find a way to help her is so honest and sweet.

He figures out what to say. "I was never afraid to touch you, Elizabeth."

Really just EVERYTHING about this line. It says it all.
