Which makes sense in a way, doesn't it? Because that's why we fell in love with them in the first place. I tend to really fall for pairings that are like that -- where they're already such partners in life that they ought to just be life partners, already. But it sort of doesn't matter if they aren't, because they're still going to have this special, unique role in the other's life. I've always wanted to read a future fic where John and Elizabeth actually marry other people, but still somehow have that bond. I'm just curious to see where it would go. :)

The thing about her not having children was ouchy. That one would have hit home, hard.

I'm kind of obsessed with this idea now. I really want to read fic about sci-fi-happenings leading to infertility and its effect on 'ship. ... so, probably the X-Files fandom, then. *sigh*
