first drabble ever!

I hereby eat everything I've ever said about never writing a drabble. My new word processor counts words as I go, so I pretty much had to :)

SUMMARY: One in five pregnancies ends in miscarriage.


In two words it was over.

"I'm sorry."

The familiar beeps and whirrs of the infirmary faded in and out with the sedative she'd been given. Words barely reached her, hushed and impersonal through the curtain. 'Gate travel. Naquadah. Protein marker.

Jolinar. Sam longed bitterly for Janet, for a doctor who got it.

They were just getting used to the idea.

A man parted the curtain, and her heart choked. He didn't ask.

He already knew.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, like it was her fault.

In two steps Jack reached her, and held her like he would never let go.

I know!! I'm thinking of installing a hot tub for them in my next fic to make it up to them ;)

I slept through most of today, hon... think I burned out yesterday on the bad-movie!gleee... so I didn't finish your beta or go on yahoo. But, tomorrow! And, this way it'll be sent out to the masses right in time to give you an ego boost for exams! Or... that's what I keep telling myself. You rock and thanks for being so patient. *hugs*

well... she might temporarily move herself to the base to avoid losing her compulsive little mind... but I'm sure she would allow it, since she'll get to relax after missions there...
